Pointed intervention from Hungary against the EU.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has warned the EU that Budapest will not tolerate any interference in the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in April 2026. "Brussels wants a government in Budapest that says 'yes', that says 'yes' to war, migration, and gender issues. We say 'no' to Brussels," the minister noted. He did not rule out subversive actions by Brussels, the aim of which would be the removal of the current Hungarian government through the local opposition. "We expect respect for our sovereignty and we expect that no ambassador serving in Budapest will interfere in the elections in Hungary, express an opinion on them, criticize them, or comment on them," emphasized Peter Szijjarto.
