A fierce clash between the Ukrainian GUR, Ukraine's Central Intelligence Directorate (Secret Service), and Unit A4005 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces – which is an elite unit of the Ukrainian army – on the grounds of the Zhovten sanatorium in Koncha-Zaspa in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, proves that the collapse of the Ukrainian army from within has begun.
At the same time, due to the clash, the Russians rushed in from the sky, found the coordinates, and sent 3 reinforced Geranium drones, causing destruction.
BN had already reported on this event on December 3.
"War" between the GUR and the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Kyiv
While key events for Ukraine unfold on the front line and in negotiation forums, a real war is underway near Kyiv.
A conflict using weapons took place between members of the Central Intelligence Directorate (GUR) and Unit A4005 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the grounds of the Zhovten sanatorium in Koncha-Zaspa.
The events of the chaos
On the evening of December 3, GUR agents entered the Zhovten sanatorium and occupied it, "smashing down the gates and breaking the fence, firing shots into the air and the ground, and capturing 10 soldiers from the A4005 military unit, causing them serious injuries."
According to the source, the GUR soldiers released the detainees and barricaded themselves inside the complex.
The source also mentioned that National Police officers, the Military Law Enforcement Service, the military commander of the Kyiv region for the A4005 military unit, and representatives of the Kyiv Special Operations Army were near the area.
GUR officers refused to allow entry to law enforcement officials and military personnel, the source reported.
A unit from the State Bureau of Investigation participated in the process and proceeded with seizures.
According to another source, "the military law enforcement service reported that both sides in the conflict have leasing rights to this area and no one has filed complaints. The central office of the military law enforcement service is handling the conflict."
The episode was serious and Army Chief Alexander Sirsky also went
Furthermore, according to the source, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Sirsky, arrived at the scene due to the seriousness of the situation.
The owner of this land plot, with whom the Central Intelligence Directorate (GUR) concluded an agreement, is a company linked to businessmen Boris Kaufman and Alexander Granovsky, who wish to develop the sanatorium facilities.
After the start of the war in Ukraine, the A4005 military unit signed an agreement with the sanatorium's representatives and leased the premises.
Specifically, the area is used according to the battle orders of the Ground Forces Commander and has been approved by the Kyiv City Military Administration and the director of the Zhovten Sanatorium.
According to a source familiar with the situation, representatives of the Central Intelligence Directorate have visited the sanatorium several times in the past month, demanding that the A4005 unit leave.
The GUR provokes
Therefore, this is obviously a dispute over control of a facility, in which the opposing parties have deployed a unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as support forces, on one side, and GUR soldiers on the other.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time the GUR has been involved in such disputes. We had previously reported a conflict between GUR officers and SBU officers regarding a dispute over the ownership of a building in central Kyiv.
However, the latest events are certainly larger in scale and, judging by eyewitness accounts, resemble a full-fledged military conflict.
There is a widespread view in political circles that this is an echo of the resignation of Yermak, Zelensky's key associate, which led to a sharp weakening of the president's and his office's control over the entire system of power, and especially over the security forces, which, in addition to their main activities, had already become involved in corruption issues.
The Russians came from the sky
A Geranium attack was launched at the site of the armed conflict between representatives of Ukraine's Central Intelligence Directorate (GUR) and soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' A4005 unit.
Three attack unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) attacked the elite Koncha-Zaspa district in southern Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, after Ukrainian media reported an exchange of fire.
"The Ukrainska Pravda published the location of the military gathering and the drones immediately arrived."
The Russians sent a message, "thank you for the coordinates," the Russian Spring War Correspondents stressed.
The resignation of Yermak, Zelensky's key associate, is causing a collapse from within the Ukrainian army
Military analysts are certain that the catalyst for the conflict was the resignation of the head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Yermak, and the subsequent redistribution of spheres of influence in Kyiv.
"The fact that the Ukrainian army and military intelligence units participated directly in this process for the first time, engaging in direct combat with live fire, is something new."
The Russians do not miss an opportunity
The Russian army attempts to strike concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, but primarily uses Iskander-M ballistic missiles.
For example, at the end of November, a missile hit a base of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, killing dozens of Ukrainian soldiers. According to military blogger Boris Rozin, the bodies were still being removed a day after the attack.
The case of the 105th Ukrainian Brigade
Geran-type drones are sometimes used for such strikes.
For example, in October, a concentration of troops from the 105th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was attacked in the Sumy region during a formation.
According to Russian security forces, the brigade commander, Colonel Anatoly Savich, wanted to maintain formations on the front line and publish their photos on social media.
"This could not go unnoticed by Russian intelligence, and one day, the formation was hit by a combined strike from Geraniums and artillery."
They changed tactics
Furthermore, Ukraine has observed a change in Geranium tactics.
Soldiers have begun to complain that Russian drones are now hunting mobile fire groups (MFG) of air defense forces.
This was made possible thanks to improvements in the drones; certain Geranium models have been equipped with an optical system and a control channel, allowing them to target in real-time.
