Vladimir Putin stated that Russia finds itself faced with a period of deep and systemic changes at a global level, arguing that it is a historical turning point that demands national unity and cohesion.
At the same time, he argued that there are forces seeking to undermine the unity of the Russian people, expressing however the certainty that these efforts will not succeed.
Addressing the countries he characterizes as "unfriendly", the Russian president emphasized that differences should be resolved through negotiations and not with ultimatums, while he repeated that, in his opinion, no one should seek a military conflict with Russia.
Russia faced critical challenges: It exists because it is strong
Vladimir Putin argued that the last 25 years constituted a historical period for Russia, during which the country faced critical challenges but at the same time reinforced its national cohesion and its development prospects.
Speaking at the congress of his party, the Russian president stated that "the most important thing is that the cohesion of our people was reinforced, its will to revive the country, its capabilities and the prospects of its development and power."
At the same time, he repeated that, in his opinion, Russia can exist only as a strong and independent state, stating characteristically: "Russia can only be a strong, independent power, otherwise there will be no Russia."
"No one managed to bend Russia and neither will anyone manage it in the future"
Putin stated that every time Russia demonstrates weakness, its opponents choose the "language of power", arguing that they seek to weaken the country and limit its role as a global power.
He mentioned that, in his opinion, there are forces seeking "to get rid of Russia as a global factor", adding that "no one ever managed it, no one will manage it now and no one will manage it in the future either."
Vladimir Putin further emphasized that Russia remains strong and ready to defend its fundamental national interests, its worldview, its traditions and its values.
At the same time, he repeated that the defense of the fatherland constitutes the highest priority for the Russian people, arguing that the Russians demonstrated unity and cohesion against what he characterized as aggressive actions against the country.

"Ukraine is retreating and resorts to terrorist methods"
Vladimir Putin argued that the Ukrainian forces are retreating along the entire length of the front line and accused Kyiv of resorting to "terrorist methods", since, as he mentioned, it has not managed to achieve its goals in the field of operations.
Vladimir Putin claimed that attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as actions of sabotage inside Russia, constitute proof of the change of tactics by Ukraine.
The specific claims express the position of the Russian leadership and have not been independently confirmed.
The Russian president also repeated that military operations in Ukraine will terminate when, according to Moscow, the goals of the "special military operation" are achieved.
