The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that China welcomes the signing of the interim agreement between the United States and Iran and expresses the hope that the two countries will approach their upcoming negotiations with logic and pragmatism. Speaking at a press briefing for journalists, Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that Beijing also hopes both sides will honor the commitments they undertook under the agreement. On Wednesday, the President of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf underlined the importance of developing relations with China, as well as the need to place emphasis on addressing the economic problems facing the Iranian people. "China is undoubtedly unique for us. We are the ones who must convince China, and we will convince it, that we are not just a customer or a commercial partner, but a real strategic partner of China in every sense of the word," stated Ghalibaf, according to the news agency Mehr.
