Iran humiliates US as ‘HUGE’ supertanker breaks blockade carrying 1.9 million barrels bound for China
According to data from Tanker Trackers, the supertanker carries more than 1.9 million barrels of crude oil, the value of which reaches 220 million dollars.

In a display of power and operational capability, the Iranian supertanker “HUGE” managed to break through the naval blockade imposed by the “American terrorist army,” as characteristically stated in the announcement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and reported by the Tasnim agency, transporting a massive cargo of crude oil to the Far East.

The timeline of the “escape”

According to data from Tanker Trackers, the supertanker carries more than 1.9 million barrels of crude oil, the value of which reaches 220 million dollars.
The vessel was spotted about a week ago off the coast of Sri Lanka.
It is currently sailing through the Lombok Strait in Indonesia, heading toward the Riau islands, having managed to remain intact despite American pressure.

Strategic significance and failure of sanctions

The successful passage of the “HUGE” constitutes a resounding response from Tehran to Washington’s policy of “maximum sanctions.”
The delivery of the cargo to the Far East secures critical funds for the Iranian economy, giving it a significant economic breathing space.
It demonstrates that the US no longer has absolute control over international sea lanes, as Iran finds “windows” to supply its allies.
This move represents a major geopolitical challenge that coincides with the broader realignment of power in the region, where Iran imposes its own agenda despite threats of military involvement.

Naval blockade

It is recalled that since April 13, 2026, the US has moved from simple economic sanctions to a full naval blockade (Naval Blockade) of Iranian coasts.
This is an extremely rare and aggressive measure reminiscent of Cold War times or the Cuban Missile Crisis.
What exactly is happening right now May 2026?

1) Naval blockade (Physical Blockade)
Unlike in the past, where the US simply “blocked” bank accounts, it now uses the US Navy and CENTCOM to physically stop ships.
The order is that any vessel entering or leaving Iranian ports without permission from the US is subject to interception, inspection and seizure.
More than 10,000 American soldiers, dozens of warships and aircraft patrol the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
The goal is to reduce to zero the oil exports that finance Tehran’s war machine.

2) The “shadow fleet” war (Shadow Fleet)
Iran uses a vast fleet of tankers such as the HUGE that:
Turn off AIS
Deactivate their tracking system to become “invisible” to radar.
Change flags
Use flags of countries such as Panama or Liberia to avoid inspection.
Mid-sea transfers
Transfer oil from ship to ship (STS transfers) in international waters to conceal its origin.

3) Why the case of “HUGE” is a “slap” for the US?
The fact that the HUGE passed through the Lombok Strait in Indonesia shows:

a) Failure of monitoring
Despite the technological superiority of the US, the vessel managed to sail from April when the blockade began until May without being captured.

b) Economic victory for Tehran
The 220 million dollars it carries is “fresh money” that Iran desperately needs to break internal economic suffocation.

c) Strategic bypass
The vessel did not use the Strait of Malacca which is tightly controlled, but the Lombok Strait, showing that Iran is finding new, more difficult routes toward China.

4) Diplomatic pressure (Secondary Sanctions)
In addition to the guns of ships, the US imposes secondary sanctions, any company for example in Indonesia or Sri Lanka that provides fuel, water or assistance to the “HUGE” risks being cut off from the
global dollar system.
This is why the vessel sails “invisible,” as no country wants to appear officially to be helping it.
The blockade of 2026 is an act of war.
The fact that Iran “gets through” such cargo shows that the global geopolitical chessboard has changed, the US can no longer fully impose its will on the seas, especially when there is the tacit support of China, which is waiting for this oil.
