Με ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον αναμένονται οι τοποθετήσεις τριών γερμανών οικονομολόγων που κατά καιρούς έχουν ασκήσει σκληρή κριτική στις κεντρικές οικονομικές επιλογές του Βερολίνου και της A. Merkel
Η κρίση της ελληνικής οικονομίας θα βρεθεί στο επίκεντρο του διήμερου συνεδρίου του κορυφαίου αμερικανικού Ινστιτούτου levy οι εργασίες του οποίοι θα ξεκινήσουν την Παρασκευή στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής.
Στο συνέδριο θα δώσουν το παρών κορυφαίοι ακαδημαϊκοί και οικονομολόγοι από το εξωτερικό αλλά και την Ελλάδα ενώ από πολιτικούς μοναδικός που έχει κληθεί να συμμετάσχει και να μιλήσει είναι ο Αντιπρόεδρος της Βουλής και βουλευτής του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ Γιάννης Δραγασάκης.
Το συνέδριο θα έχει ως θέμα «Η Ευρώπη στο σταυροδρόμι: Μια Ένωση με λιτότητα ή ανάπτυξη σύγκλισης;» και θα επικεντρωθεί στη συνέχιση της συζήτησης γύρω από συστημική αστάθεια της ευρωζώνης τις προτάσεις για την τραπεζική ένωση τη ρύθμιση και την εποπτεία των χρηματοπιστωτικών ιδρυμάτων.
Στις θεματικές ενότητες που έχουν διαμορφωθεί θα εξεταστούν και τα ζητήματα νομισματικής, δημοσιονομικής και εμπορικής πολιτικής στην Ευρώπη, καθώς και οι δευτερογενείς επιπτώσεις για τις ΗΠΑ και την παγκόσμια οικονομία.
Ψηλά στην Ατζέντα των συζητήσεων και της ανταλλαγής απόψεων του συνεδρίου και ο αντίκτυπος των πολιτικών λιτότητας στις ΗΠΑ και τις ευρωπαϊκές αγορές αλλά και η βιωσιμότητα των δημοσίων ελλειμμάτων και του χρέους.

-Peter Bofinger, μέλος του Γερμανικού Συμβουλίου Οικονομικών Εμπειρογνωμόνων (επιτροπή σοφών της Γερμανίας) Καθηγητής Νομισματικής Πολιτικής και Διεθνών Οικονομικών στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Würzburg που θα αναπτύξει το θέμα "Μακροοικονομικά και Πολιτικές για την ευρωπαϊκή ανάπτυξη". Πρόκειται για τον διεθν9ούς κύρους οικονομολόγο ο οποίος είχε δημόσια κατηγορήσει τον Β. Σόιμπλε ότι «δεν έχει ιδέα από οικονομική πολιτική».
