Pensioners look for roommates, they cannot afford rent - Apartments with rent under 300 euros are nowhere to be found

Pensioners look for roommates, they cannot afford rent - Apartments with rent under 300 euros are nowhere to be found
Rent maps for all areas of Attica

Incredible yet true! The housing crisis and the high cost of living have pushed pensioners to their limit, forcing them to post advertisements in a group that already counts 65,000 members, searching for a roommate to share the costs of rent and utility bills! This is what Themistoklis Bakas, President of the Panhellenic Network of E-REAL ESTATES, denounces on BNtv's show MAGGA, explaining that 55% of Greek citizens over the age of 65 spend more than 40% of their income on housing costs.

Mitsotakis's "promises" for social housing and student dormitories

Mr. Bakas answers journalist Angie Stathatou regarding the announcements about social housing and how many residences have actually been built from 2022 until today, as well as the 8,000 student dormitories that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had announced but were lost... along the way, while presenting detailed maps with rent prices for properties over 75 sq.m. and under 50 sq.m. in all areas of Attica and urban centers.

The bold blackmail of funds and the 180,000 closed homes

What role do funds and servicers play in skyrocketing rents? Themis Bakas explains that over 180,000 homes remain closed and off the market, creating an artificial shortage. In fact, the funds are blackmailing the state by demanding free property legalizations in order to bring these assets to the real estate market. How was the 1 billion euros that ended up in state coffers from short-term rental taxation utilized? Are there student apartments with rent under 300 euros, how many, and where? What is Cyprus doing in the "Renovate" Program that Greece is not doing to ensure reduced rents?
