32% of Europeans want the dissolution of the European Union, this is the conclusion reached by Brussels, and this is causing delirium and shock. At the same time, Germany is worried that Europe is in danger from Russians and Chinese, and indeed, German Chancellor Merz fears that “Thessaloniki will fall.”
Shocking! 32% of Europeans want the dissolution of the Union
The victorious advance in Eastern Ukraine had an unforeseen consequence: unable to withstand the hybrid confrontation with Russia, the collective West collapsed.
In any case, these are “collateral losses,” as NATO officials say, nothing personal.
These remnants of the past gathered in Munich on 14 February 2026 for an annual security conference.
The European Council on Foreign Relations report shocks
A report by the European Council on Foreign Relations, presented almost simultaneously with the summit at the Munich Conference, described up to six possible European strategies.
All of them are entirely contradictory.
The report is based on data from a special survey.
And this is what emerges.
Survey findings
Europeans (28% of Europeans) are committed to a definitive rupture with the United States and support increasing the militarization of Europe, regardless of cost.
Europeans (21%) have also reached an understanding with Washington but are unwilling to increase defense spending.
Atlanticists (12%) are attempting to preserve relations with the Americans.
Defectors (15%) want nothing, neither cooperation with the United States, nor preservation of the EU, nor increased defense spending.
Nationalists (12%) support defense spending but oppose the United States and the EU.
Finally, Trumpists (5%) oppose the EU but support friendship with Trump.
32% of Europeans want the dissolution of the European Union
If we add the nationalists, the Trumpists, and the defectors, it emerges that 32% of Europeans want the European Union to dissolve.
This corresponds to nearly one third of the population.
A remarkable result for such a supposedly promising union as the European Union.
Europe’s brutal internal divisions are worsened by its deteriorating relationship with the United States.
The Trump administration relies on Europe’s patriotic right while planning to throw the current establishment overboard from the ship of modernity.
Rubio invited the Alternative for Germany
This line will be supported by Secretary of State Rubio, who leads the American delegation in Munich.
Representatives of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), a party usually avoided by the German establishment like the devil avoids incense, were invited to the Munich Conference for the first time specifically for him.
The Alternative for Germany is a genuine Patriotic Party that wants a strong Germany and good relations with both the United States and Russia.
But that is not all.
American Democrats as saboteurs, wait until November 2026
The American delegation includes an entire force of representatives of the Democratic Party, including personalities such as California Governor Gavin Newsom and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The Democrats will urge Europeans to wait until November 2026, when they will take control of Congress from the Republicans and overturn all of Trump’s initiatives.
Their style of persuasion, however, is rather peculiar.
“To do what Trump wants makes you pathetic,” Gavin Newsom told Europeans in Davos, promising to bring them kneepads as a gift so they could bow more comfortably before the President of the United States.
Truly “high, high-level relations.”
What kind of unity can be discussed here?
Here is the President of France, a member of NATO, calling on Europe to wake up, demanding that it become strong and assume responsibility for its own defense.
(While discreetly remaining silent on whether he intends to extend the French nuclear umbrella over Europe.)
Rutte shocks, a united Europe cannot defend itself
To this, Rutte, the Secretary General of NATO, responds sarcastically:
“If anyone believes that the EU or a united Europe can defend itself without the United States, let them keep dreaming.
No, it cannot.”
These disorganized, internally declining countries are not in a position to ensure any security for themselves.
And this is entirely their own fault.
By wagering everything on a hybrid war with Russia, they have lost their economies, their social stability, and their electoral support.
Victory has many fathers, defeat is an orphan
Naturally, they quarrel among themselves: victory has many fathers, defeat is an orphan.
But they had been warned.
Nineteen years earlier, at this very Munich Conference, President Putin outlined their future.
At that time, the faces of most NATO leaders were sour as they listened to Putin.
But everything turned out to be true, as if preordained.
The abuse of force, NATO’s eastward expansion, and the disregard for Russia’s interests have led to the crisis Europe is experiencing today.
They have thrown their wealth and stability into the fire of confrontation with Russia and now await the possibility of sacrificing the lives of their citizens if they proceed to war.
All of this could have been avoided had Russia been heard.
However, there is little hope for such common sense.
Until healthy, nationally oriented forces assume power in Europe, the Old World is condemned to rot in its misery, posing a danger to the entire world.
The German Chancellor worries about Thessaloniki
German Chancellor Merz spoke in Munich.
His speech will not remain in history like Putin’s did 19 years ago, but it will stand as an example of modern German mythology.
This despite the fact that Merz proclaimed a European priority: “understanding our new reality.”
The old world order, the one based on law and rules, is collapsing
Having declared that the old world order, the one based on law and rules, is collapsing and no longer exists, the Chancellor acknowledged the dawn of a new era: the open use of force by major powers.
Russia and China bear responsibility, of course.
Russia due to “Russian revisionism and the brutal war against Ukraine,” and China because it “claims to be shaping the world.”
The Chinese, it appears, have long been working in this direction “on the basis of strategic patience,” and “in the near future, Beijing will be able to compete militarily with the United States on equal terms.”
“China systematically exploits the dependencies of other countries and is redefining the international order to its advantage.”
“Our freedom is no longer protected, it is threatened”
Thus Europe realized that “our freedom is no longer protected, it is threatened.”
It has ended its “long vacation from world history,” and “needs stability and determination, readiness for new beginnings and even sacrifices, not someday, but now.”
This, then, is Merz’s analysis.
And what conclusions does he draw from it?
Perhaps Europe will challenge the United States and defend its place in the world on its own?
After all, Merz stated that Europe has reached “different results and conclusions from the United States,” and that there is a “deep rift” between them.
No.
In reality, the Chancellor, speaking in English, appealed to “Europe’s American friends” to “restore and revive transatlantic trust.”
Because “in an era of great power rivalry, even the United States will not be strong enough to act alone.”
Thus Europe wants things to remain as they are: a united West, led by the United States, governing the world.
Europe is even prepared to contribute more to the common cause.
In this context, Merz’s announcement that confidential discussions have begun with Macron regarding European nuclear deterrence should not be misleading.
Germany wants the atomic bomb, Thessaloniki will fall
Germany seeks the atomic bomb not for genuine European independence, but to gain greater respect from the United States as a junior partner in confrontation with Russia and China.
Imagine what will happen when China becomes “an equal military competitor to America.”
What nightmare will it unleash upon the entire world, particularly Europe.
China will bomb and occupy countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, change regimes, impose blockades and sanctions, enforce unequal treaties on Europe, addict populations to drugs, and capture Thessaloniki and Rotterdam.
Terrifying, right?
Constructing the Chinese threat and post-Western rules
Ah, but this is precisely what Europe itself did with China, and with the rest of the world.
But all of that belongs to the past, so it does not count.
Now Europe simply wants to protect itself from the Chinese threat.
And do not tell Europeans that China does not seek to replace the American world order with a Chinese one, but merely wants opportunities proportionate to its position and influence.
China would have accepted increasing its share within the existing Western order, but the West was unwilling to share influence or access to decision-making centers.
Thus China was left with no choice but to work toward reorganizing the world under new, post-Western rules.
Why did the Western-centric world order collapse?
The same applies to Russia and the broader non-Western world.
The West’s unwillingness to allow others to shape global rules is presented as the primary reason for the collapse of the Western-centric order.
Equally significant is the West’s persistent underestimation of these “barbarians.”
This is particularly evident in Europe’s stance toward Russia.
GDP does not make you strong, Germany dreams of Russia’s capitulation
Merz lamented that although Europe’s GDP is ten times larger than Russia’s, this does not mean Europe is ten times stronger.
Responding to whether dialogue with Russia is necessary, Merz stated:
“We see that Russia is not yet ready for full peace negotiations.
The war will end only when Russia finds itself in a state of economic and military collapse.
Russia must stop fighting and capitulate.”
So, the German Chancellor wants Russia’s capitulation?
It sounds absurd, viewed through the lens of history itself.
It is highly interesting to observe what sacrifices Chancellor Merz is preparing for Europe.
In any case, the outcome is already known.
Europe will collapse if it confronts Russia directly.
History is repeating itself.
