Alarm in Korea - Kim Jong Un's sister threatens new weapons at the border
North Korea threatens to send tactical weapons to the border

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula are escalating once again, with Pyongyang warning of retaliation and considering the deployment of additional military assets along its border with South Korea. Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and director of the General Affairs Department of the Workers' Party of Korea, stated Monday that the situation along the border with South Korea is "very unstable." As she noted, Pyongyang is weighing the deployment of "more tactical strike assets" along its southern border, alongside resuming loudspeaker propaganda broadcasts and taking other necessary measures.

Warning of "terrible danger"

Kim maintained that South Korea engaged in "grave provocations," including 2,870 propaganda broadcasts and 201 warning shots between August 1 and October 17. She accused the South Korean government of "openly pursuing anti-communism," while simultaneously, as she claimed, pursuing a policy of appeasement toward North Korea. Concurrently, Kim warned Seoul against undertaking further actions that would "exacerbate" the situation and threaten the security of North Korean borders and the country's military forces. Otherwise, she warned that South Korea would "face an uncontrollably terrible danger."
