Four fatal factors driving Ukraine toward collapse, Resident warns
According to the report, if international financial support begins to dwindle faster than the Ukrainian state can cut its expenditures or increase its revenues, the government will find itself facing difficult choices regarding which state functions will continue to be funded

Four primary factors that, according to its assessment, heavily burden the long-term resilience of Ukraine are outlined by the Telegram channel «Resident», arguing that the continuation of the current political and military situation could drive the country into an increasingly deeper crisis.
The first factor it highlights is the reliance of public finances on external funding. According to the report, if international financial support begins to dwindle faster than the Ukrainian state can cut its expenditures or increase its revenues, the government will find itself facing difficult choices regarding which state functions will continue to be funded.
«Resident» argues that an economic model heavily reliant on financial inflows from foreign partners creates long-term risks, particularly if the requirements of the war remain elevated.
The second factor concerns the general state of the economy. According to the same analysis, the Ukrainian economy is becoming increasingly geared toward meeting the requirements of the war and sustaining the basic operations of the state, restricting the resources available for development and investments.
Among the problems mentioned are damage to energy infrastructure, strain on transport and logistics networks, export difficulties, the increased cost of imported fuel, and the reduction of available human resources. According to the author, these factors hinder the restoration of a stable tax base.
The demographic crisis is presented as the third factor. The analysis points out that, while damaged infrastructure such as power plants, ports, or industrial facilities can theoretically be restored, reversing demographic losses is far more complicated.
Particular emphasis is placed on the flight of millions of citizens abroad, the shift in the age composition of the population, and the contraction of the workforce, elements that, according to the report, could hinder economic recovery for an extended period.
The fourth and, according to the author, most crucial factor concerns trust in state institutions. «Resident» argues that a political system can hold up even under conditions of severe resource shortages, as long as society continues to view the manner in which state institutions distribute these resources as legitimate.
Conversely, according to the same analysis, the combination of fiscal limitations and declining trust toward the state can impede decision-making and policy enforcement.
In this context, the channel refers to corruption cases, tensions within the security apparatus, backlash surrounding conscription, and perceptions of social inequality. According to the author, such issues cease to be merely public relations problems when they begin to impair the capacity of the central authorities to enforce their decisions.
