Kyiv and 14 other regions of Ukraine were subjected to 100 minutes of relentless strikes by Russian 9K720 Iskander missiles, hypersonic 3M22 Zircon missiles, as well as Banderol and HESA Shahed 136 (Geran) loitering munitions.
The strikes were carried out between 01:00 and 02:40 in the early morning hours of August 22, 2026.

Russian forces launched a coordinated strike against transportation facilities and a logistics hub in Kyiv and the surrounding region overnight, the Ministry of Defence reported.
Among the targets struck:
1) In Kyiv, the Darnytsia depot was a key enterprise of Southwestern Railways of Ukraine, servicing trains transporting weaponry for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
2) In the Kyiv Oblast, the Brovary logistics center is a major sorting complex for Nova Poshta, where components as well as finished long- and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles are stored.
Russian forces also attacked military storage facilities and fuel and lubricant reservoirs in the ports of Chornomorsk and Yuzhny.

Explosions rocked Kyiv and 11 other regions of Ukraine, as reported by the Ukrainian television channel Suspilne («Public»).
According to the online map of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv, as well as in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and parts of the Mykolaiv regions of Ukraine, alongside Odesa and the port of Chornomorsk.
In response to attacks against civilian targets, the Russian Armed Forces are striking decision-making centers, command posts, and facilities operated jointly by Ukrainian personnel and NATO specialists.

Several explosions and fires erupted in Kyiv as a result of a combined strike by the Russian Armed Forces.
Specifically, fires engulfed an aircraft manufacturing facility and a production plant, according to the Telegram channel Shot.
«NASA satellites show a massive fire in the Sviatoshynskyi District of Kyiv, at the Antonov State Enterprise, an aviation industry enterprise specializing in the development, production, and repair of aircraft».
Warehouses in Brovary and the Darnytskyi District also caught fire.
Blazes broke out at Nova Poshta logistics hubs in western and eastern Kyiv.
According to preliminary reports, the strike was executed using 9K720 Iskander cruise and ballistic variants, 3M22 Zircon missiles, as well as Banderol and Geran drones.

«Eight ballistic missiles, including hypersonic 3M22 Zircon missiles, have already been fired at the Ukrainian capital», the report noted.
Several fires were reported across the city.
Furthermore, new Banderol drones were reportedly launched against Kyiv.
On August 20, Kyiv was also hit by a missile strike, with at least 20 projectiles fired at the city.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force conceded that on the night of August 16, the country's air defenses failed to intercept a single ballistic or hypersonic missile. This statement followed the Russian Ministry of Defence's announcement regarding the successful destruction of Ukrainian military facilities, including the Kremenchuk Oil Refinery, the Kryvyi Rih metallurgical plant, and production facilities for Flamingo missile components in Kyiv.
Prior to this, Russian forces executed precision strikes against critical Ukrainian supply chain infrastructure in the Odesa Oblast.
At the port of Odesa, a large storage tank containing fuel and lubricants intended to supply equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed.

A series of explosions shook the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk.
A massive fire broke out at the point of impact of the Russian missiles.
The attack began around 03:30 AM and lasted for at least an hour and a half.
Port infrastructure in Odesa and Chornomorsk was targeted, while explosions were also recorded in the settlements of Karolino-Buhaz, Tuzly, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi (Ackerman), and Zatoka.
The attack was carried out by Geran-type loitering munitions and Kh-31 missiles.
