Iranian Fars video shows potential attack point along the US president's route

The Iranian news agency Fars has released a video on social media with the English title "Where to kill Trump?", sparking intense reactions over its highly controversial content. The footage was posted, among other platforms, on the agency's Telegram channel, which is widely believed to maintain close ties with Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). A version of the clip that had been published on the X platform, owned by Elon Musk, was subsequently removed from circulation.

The route to Mar-a-Lago targeted

The footage appears to map out the route taken by US President Donald Trump’s motorcade toward his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, highlighting a local bridge as a potential security vulnerability. However, according to publicly available mapping data, the route depicted in the video does not fully correspond to the actual presidential travel routes known to be used in the area. The release of the video comes during a highly sensitive period, as Iran has issued repeated calls for retaliation following the assassination of its supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Tehran threatens retaliation following Khamenei's death

Ali Khamenei was killed in an Israeli airstrike at his official residence on February 28, a momentous event that triggered furious reactions from the Iranian leadership. The Fars video was distributed amid mounting global concerns over potential retaliatory strikes by Tehran targeting US or Israeli interests.

Trump: "I am Iran’s number one target"

Donald Trump himself recently declared that he believes he is firmly in the crosshairs of the Iranian regime. Speaking at the NATO Summit in Ankara last week, the US president stated pointedly: "I am number one on Iran's assassination list." Meanwhile, it is well known that security measures around his movements in Florida have been significantly tightened, and his route to Mar-a-Lago was altered back in January 2026 following the discovery of a suspicious package at a local airport.

New cycle of US-Iran tension

The development injects a volatile new element into the already fractured US-Iran relations, with intelligence agencies closely monitoring any indicators of a direct threat against the US president.
