The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian armed forces carried out attacks against railway trains in the Ukrainian regions of Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv, claiming that they were being used to transport military equipment and weaponry to the front.

According to the relevant announcement, the operations were carried out with Geranium-type unmanned aerial vehicles, which, according to the Russian side, successfully hit the locomotives that were pulling the military cargo.

"All predetermined targets were hit," the Russian Ministry of Defense characteristically stated, without providing further details on the extent of the damage or the number of trains destroyed.

Russian strikes on military infrastructure continue

The announcement is part of the ongoing Russian attacks against Ukrainian military and industrial facilities.

Earlier, Moscow had made known that it launched another series of large-scale attacks, which it characterized as retaliation, claiming that facilities related to the Ukrainian defense industry were hit.

Among the targets that, according to the Russian side, were hit was a facility of Samsung-Ukraine, which allegedly manufactured components for FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles, as well as an assembly unit for long and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles.

So far, these specific claims by the Russian Ministry of Defense have not been confirmed by independent sources, while there has been no official statement from the Ukrainian side regarding the reported attacks.
