'I can do terrible things': Trump threatens global trade rivals after Supreme Court tariff snub
The US President once again took to Truth Social to comment on the Supreme Court's decision overturning his tariffs, warning he has the power to take drastic measures against other countries

In a torrent of a post that has caused global tremors and intense concern, US President Donald Trump launched an unprecedented attack against the US Supreme Court, while simultaneously threatening "harsh retaliation" against countries he believes are exploiting America. The US President began his intervention with a move of defiance toward the institution of the Supreme Court, stating that he would write its name in lowercase letters as a sign of absolute lack of respect. Despite the fact that the recent judicial decision appears to grant him expanded powers, he characterized the opinion as "ridiculous and stupid," accusing the justices of doing a "great job for the wrong people."

However, the point that causes chills is his direct threat regarding the use of presidential powers in the field of trade licenses and tariffs. "I can use Licenses to do absolutely 'terrible' things to foreign countries, especially those that have been SKINNING US for decades," he wrote characteristically. Trump argued that he now has the "legal certainty" to use tariffs in a much more "powerful and annoying way" against the international competitors of the US.

The Citizenship front and China

The former President did not limit himself to the economy. He wide opened the issue of Birthright Citizenship, arguing that the 14th Amendment of the Constitution is being misinterpreted to the benefit of China and other nations that "get rich" at the expense of the US. With a historical retrospective to the Civil War, Trump called on the Court to stop making decisions that are "detrimental to the future of the Nation." The post closes with the well-known slogan "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN," sending the message that he is ready to bypass institutional "stiffness" to impose his agenda.DT_11_1.JPG

In more detail, Trump states in his post: "the supreme court (I will use lower case letters for a while due to a complete lack of respect!) of the United States, accidentally and unintentionally, gave me, as President of the United States, much more power and strength than I had before their ridiculous, stupid, and internationally divisive decision. For one thing, I can use Licenses (i.e., special trade and export licenses issued by the US government that allow foreign companies or states to access the American market) to do absolutely 'terrible' things to foreign countries, especially those countries that have been SKINNING US for many decades, but incomprehensibly, according to the decision, I cannot charge them a License fee — BUT ALL LICENSES HAVE FEES, why can't the United States do the same? You get a license to collect a fee! The opinion does not explain this, but I know the answer!

The court also approved all other Tariffs, which are many, and all of them can be used in a much more powerful and annoying way, with legal certainty, than the Tariffs as originally used. Our incompetent supreme court did a great job for the wrong people, and for that they should be ashamed (but not the Three Great Ones!). The next thing you will see is them deciding in favor of China and others, who make entire fortunes from Birthright Citizenship, saying that the 14th Amendment was NOT written to take care of 'slave babies,' which was true as proven by the EXACT TIME of its drafting, filing, and ratification, which coincided perfectly with the END OF THE CIVIL WAR. What better proof can you have?

But this supreme court will find a way to reach the wrong conclusion, a conclusion that will again make China, and various other Nations, happy and rich. Let our supreme court continue to make decisions that are so bad and detrimental to the future of our Nation — I have a job to do. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP."

EU freezes ratification of trade deal with the US

Meanwhile, the EU is ready to freeze the ratification process of the trade agreement with the US and is asking for more details from the Trump administration regarding his new tariff program. The main political groups in the European Parliament state that they will suspend legislative work on the approval of the trade agreement on Monday, a few days after the US Supreme Court rejected Trump's use of emergency law to impose so-called reciprocal tariffs worldwide. Zeljana Zovko, lead trade negotiator for the European People's Party group for the US deal, stated in an interview with Bloomberg that "we have no other choice" but to delay the approval process in order to seek clarity on the situation.

The center-right EPP group, the largest political group in the Parliament, will be joined by parties such as the Social Democrats and the liberal Renew group to support the suspension of the process. Bernd Lange, chairman of the parliamentary trade committee, called an emergency meeting later on Monday to review the EU-US agreement. Over the weekend, he had stated that the parliament should delay work on the agreement until it receives more clarity regarding the new tariffs. Trump's announcement following the court's decision on the imposition of a 10% global tariff - which he then increased to 15% - left many questions unanswered for US trade partners, causing further economic turmoil and uncertainty for US policy. MEPs had frozen the approval process in the past as well, when Trump threatened to annex Greenland.
