The plan of NATO to establish a nuclear protectorate in Russia’s backyard is unfolding before the horrified eyes of the entire planet, and that state is none other than the historically anti Russian Poland. According, in fact, to the country’s president, Karol Nawrocki, Warsaw is pursuing an accelerated nuclear armament in order to “target its great adversary, Russia.” “We are a country exactly on the border of an armed conflict,” Nawrocki stressed. As emphasized by the Military Watch Magazine, the first stage of nuclear armament being examined by Poland is expected to take place through its entry into the nuclear sharing agreement and the subsequent receipt of B61-12 aerial bombs from the United States.
Shocking admission by Nawrocki: We will acquire nuclear weapons to strike Russia
More specifically, the Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that his country must begin developing nuclear weapons, clarifying that a future nuclear arsenal would target Russia. Describing himself as a “strong supporter of Poland’s participation in the nuclear program,” he argued that Warsaw must shape its future security strategy “based on nuclear potential.”

“We must work toward this objective in order to begin the process. We are a country exactly on the border of an armed conflict. Russia’s aggressive, imperial stance toward Poland is well known,” he added.
The Americans transfer nuclear warheads to Poland under nuclear sharing
His statement follows multiple requests by Polish officials for the conclusion of a nuclear sharing agreement with the United States, under which the Polish Air Force would gain wartime access to American warheads stored on the country’s territory.

It remains uncertain whether the path to acquiring nuclear weapons referenced by President Karol Nawrocki entails entering into a nuclear sharing agreement, transforming the country into a state “on the nuclear threshold” like Germany and Japan, or developing an independent nuclear arsenal like that of France.
Immediate Russian response: You neither possess, nor will you ever be able to possess the nuclear power you are flaunting
Polish President Karol Nawrocki should not be declaring ambitions to possess nuclear weapons, responded Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia. “I would not advise Karol Nawrocki to display his nuclear muscles, not even for the sake of domestic PR, although it is unlikely these will ever appear,” he wrote on Telegram. According to Leonid Slutsky, Poland is not capable of acquiring nuclear weapons “either from a military technical or a political standpoint.” In this way, the deputy commented on Karol Nawrocki’s remarks in an interview with Polsat television regarding his desire to strengthen Poland’s security “even on the basis of nuclear power.”
NATO accelerates Europe’s nuclear armament
It is noted that on 1 April 2025, the nominee for Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, stated that the United States is prepared to consider concluding nuclear sharing agreements with additional NATO allies, fueling speculation that arrangements with Poland and Finland may be under consideration. A nuclear sharing agreement with the United Kingdom for equipping planned F-35A fighters with B61-12 nuclear bombs was confirmed shortly thereafter.

Nuclear sharing agreements are considered controversial due to the de facto creation of new nuclear states, with Western analysts widely emphasizing that they violate Articles I and II of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
“We must be ready to operate across the entire depth of Russia”
In July 2025, one of Poland’s most influential military thinkers and president of Academy24, retired General Jaroslaw Gromadzinski, advocated for a radical shift in the country’s defense posture, with a clear focus on preparing for war with Russia.

Jaroslaw Gromadzinski argued that Poland must adopt an “active defense” and be ready to operate “across the entire operational depth of the adversary,” preparing strikes inside Russian territory.
Polish Commander: We will strike directly at St. Petersburg
These views echo those of former Chief of the Polish General Staff Rajmund Andrzejczak, who stated in October 2024: “If they attack even one inch of Lithuanian territory, the response will be immediate. Not on the first day, but in the first minute. We will strike all strategic targets within a radius of 300 kilometers. We will attack directly at St. Petersburg.” He further noted that Warsaw must “take the initiative” to deter any attack that may originate from Moscow.

“Russia must realize that an attack on Poland or the Baltic States would also mean its end. This is the only way to discourage the Kremlin from such aggression,” Rajmund Andrzejczak explained. The acquisition of nuclear weapons would thus align with the broader consensus in Warsaw regarding the need to maximize the capacity to inflict destruction across the entirety of Russia.
Poland escalates provocations and plays with the fire of hell
Overall, Poland maintains an exceptionally hard line against Moscow, with leading politicians calling for the “Yugoslavization” of Russia into separate states, while Prime Minister Mateus Morawiecki has equated efforts for dialogue with Moscow to “negotiating with Hitler, Stalin, or Pol Pot,” arguing that “you do not negotiate with criminals.” The country constitutes the primary source of foreign military contractors fighting against Russia in Ukraine under formations such as the Polish Volunteer Corps, with the Polish parliament earlier in February moving to provide legal cover for such operations, signaling a possible escalation of their activities. At the same time, Polish troops on the ground, operating from Ukraine, have participated in leading multiple attacks on Russian territory, including the regions of Belgorod and Kursk, while the country remains a leading supplier of weapons and funding for the war effort.
