Globalisation in retreat: Is Thailand the latest domino in a new 'patriotic' wave? - Seven Universities debunk a myth-scam
Supporters of liberal globalization stuffed us with lies, deceived us with the ozone hole, green growth, and other such nonsense

We are facing a political cosmogony; a global shift where citizens are turning away from failed liberal globalization and returning to the ideology of the homeland, principles, and institutions. Trumpism is a form of this new movement coming internationally, sweeping the whole world; and inevitably, it will come to Greece. At the same time, the devotees of liberal globalization stuffed us with lies, deceived us with the ozone hole, green growth, and other such nonsense. Seven Universities gathered and proved the lies.

Liberal globalization is dying, something new is coming

The victory of Thai patriots in the parliamentary elections of February 8, 2026, is interesting and instructive for everyone. This victory was almost obvious within the country before the vote, but it came as a surprise to the Left of all shades across the world.

What is happening, then?

A patriotic wave had already swept Latin America (the rise of the right in Argentina, then in Bolivia and Chile, not to mention other countries with similar trends). Incidentally, Japan also held elections simultaneously with Thailand, with similar results. But that is a different story. Japan is not Thailand at all.

Trumpism sweeps the planet

Is it, then, that Trumpism is sweeping the planet? Here we must take a closer look at what exactly is winning. Especially in Thailand. That is, who are the Thai right-wingers and what exactly is their conservatism. Especially since the resounding victory of these right-wingers was met with a rather nasty reaction, for example, from the New York Times, with their general idea of the decline of Thai democracy, a path toward "reform" and so on. And if the American Democrats are unhappy with something, that is a good thing.

The example of Thailand

The political history of Thailand over the last two decades can be summarized as follows: an attack by "progressives" and "reformers," which led to a mini-civil war (the barricades in Bangkok in 2010) – then a military coup and military rule – democrats trying to gain power and implement reforms. Of course, the current winners – the Pride of Thailand Party and its leader – have demonstrated political flexibility and skill, especially since he has been acting prime minister for six months. The losers, the People's Party – a People's Party like ND in Greece or the CDU in Germany – on the other hand, have shown during their long governance that they simply cannot keep their promises – the elites stand in the way, they are understandably corrupt and need reforms. Ultimately, even loyal voters have simply become disillusioned with them.

The Left has completely failed

Thus, the main lesson of the elections in Thailand is this: the country's elites have found a governance formula whereby issues (primarily the economy) will be handled by knowledgeable individuals, neither partisan nor political. And the military and the monarchy, instead of ruling directly, will support this system and ensure stability. Now, regarding the Thai Left and why its supposed allies have been suffering defeats on one continent after another for years, it seems that their engine simply stopped – it ran out of gas. It is not about the ideological heirs of the "old" left, the one with the red banners or portraits of Che Guevara and the like. It is about the global revolution started in the 1990s by a completely different left – one that calls itself Democratic.

In the US and elsewhere. In reality, they do not hide their leftism, calling themselves left-liberals, progressives, and so on. And we know their ideology very well – global values, full globalization, down with corrupt dictators, save the planet from global warming, freedom for sexual minorities, as well as a series of other slogans, even attractive to some. Liberals and the Left are destroying traditional societies.

Trump's counter-revolution

We clearly see how this liberal and left-wing globalist attack weakened in the United States, giving momentum to a Trump counter-revolution with a thirst to make America, if not great again, at least normal. We know that this unexpected turn of events led to complete ideological and other decomposition in Europe. But there are many other countries and cultures in our wonderful world. And many interesting things are happening there too. In the current elections, the majority in Thailand voted for the patriotic formula – the king, patriotism, and tradition. This does not mean that no one wants any change for the better. It is just that the belief that the chatterboxes of globalization, whether global or local, are capable of such change has collapsed. This change is coming to Greece, inevitably, liberal globalization is dying and society is returning to the principles of Patriotism, family, principles, and values. In the elections of 2027 so much will happen that will shock even the most suspicious.

Seven Universities debunk a myth-scam

And while all this is happening, we are passing through a period of debunking several seemingly unshakable myths that, for decades, founded the politics and economy not only of continents, but of the entire planet. The time has come for another such monster. Lancaster University published a systematic scientific study that provides an in-depth, multi-year analysis of the success of environmental efforts since the hysteria over the ozone hole began. The essence is this: for decades, people and entire countries were forced to use various substitutes for freon and a host of other gases and substances that, as widely denounced, were deadly dangerous. They supposedly lead to the thinning of the ozone layer, which leads to increased exposure to cosmic radiation, resulting in the mass extinction of flora and fauna, as well as an uncontrolled increase in cancer and other fatal diseases.

A research team from the University of Lancaster provides compelling evidence that humanity, driven by artificially induced hysteria, has fought so hard for the environment that it has ultimately polluted and poisoned the planet even more. To immediately rule out any potential sarcasm regarding British scientists becoming synonymous with pseudoscience, it should be noted that, besides Lancaster, the research involved researchers from the Universities of Leeds, Urbino, Bristol, Goethite University Frankfurt, the Norwegian Institute for Air Research, the University of California San Diego, Kyungpook National University (Korea), and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology.

The research findings

Their collective work was published in the scientific journal Geophysical Research Letters, where the authors, using data collected over the last twenty-two years, constructed models of so-called chemical transport and analyzed how successful the fight against the once incredibly fashionable problem of ozone holes was. The results were terrible. It is estimated that millions of tons of dangerous chemical compounds are emitted into the atmosphere annually, of which every third ton is chlorofluorinated hydrocarbon gas.

When released into the atmosphere, this and other fluorinated gases bind with various elements and form trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), which is transported by air masses across the planet and falls as precipitation on land and oceans. TFA is extremely toxic and can cause chemical burns to the respiratory system, eyes, and skin. In addition to its direct effects, the acid accumulates in aquifers and soils, and later continuously absorbs small amounts into the human body. Its accumulation leads to severe liver damage, reproductive dysfunction, and chronic inflammation of the respiratory tract.

The cause

A reasonable question arises: where do these fluorinated gases that later turn into such a dangerous acid come from? They arise from the chemical transformation of hydrofluorocarbons and hydrochlorofluorocarbons. Behind these complex chemical terms lie substances used as refrigerants in cooling systems, as well as medical anesthetics – that is, gases that relieve pain with local and general action. The boom in their use began exactly as part of the aforementioned struggle to preserve the ozone layer.

Research teams modeled the entry of these substances into the atmosphere, their chemical transformations, and potential distribution pathways. Based on these calculations, samples were taken in a seemingly strange region like the Arctic. The calculations proved accurate. High concentrations of trifluoroacetic acid were detected in water samples and drilled cores, making the Arctic the most polluted region on the planet in this index, despite there being no refrigerators or hospitals in the eternal ice.

Dangerous gases

The modeling was also confirmed in more temperate middle latitudes. There, samples confirmed the widespread presence of HFO-1234yf, a new-generation refrigerant used worldwide in car air conditioners. It was developed specifically to replace R134a, an older and previously considered more environmentally dangerous gas. Furthermore, modern research has confirmed that, when released into the atmosphere, HFO-1234yf converts to trifluoroacetic acid just as easily as its decommissioned counterpart.

One of the authors of the scientific paper adds that various modern solvents, medical drugs, and absolutely all fluorinated pesticides serve as the initial element for the formation of trans-fatty acids (TFA). The latter are widely used in agriculture not only for controlling insects and rodents but also for destroying fungi and mold.

Multi-billion dollar lawsuits

The team of scientists does not draw direct conclusions, which is understandable. Any careless word could lead to a multi-million dollar lawsuit for damage to business reputation from companies that have been selling "environmentally friendly" products for decades. For example, from the American mega-corporation DuPont, which, under the pretext of saving the ozone layer, developed the aforementioned automotive refrigerant and also produces a wide range of other products, such as Kevlar for military use and fertilizers, including fluorinated ones.

We can now witness the collapse of one of the greatest myths of modern times, a myth that shaped an entire ideology of production and consumption, along with the simultaneous destruction of all inconvenient competitors, who were declared overnight enemies of humanity and future generations. We should also not expect any change. Most likely, the producers of hazardous chemicals will simply ignore this study or hide behind the Trump Doctrine, which has already withdrawn the United States from organizations capable of restricting even slightly the growth of major American businesses in all their forms and manifestations.

And no one cares about the environment. There was a fairy tale about the ozone holes, but it was replaced by deadly greenhouse gases with a Swedish schoolgirl as a promotional poster. If necessary, they will think of something else.
