Uproar in the US - Tulsi Gabbard out of the Trump inner circle - She had publicly disagreed with the abduction of Maduro
Gabbard, known for her fierce opposition to US military intervention in international conflicts, had stated that America must remain out of Venezuela, emphasizing the importance of non intervention in the internal politics of other countries.

The decision of the Trump administration to exclude the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Tulsi Gabbard, from the planning process of the abduction of Nicolas Maduro is provoking reactions and brings to the forefront the tensions that had existed for a long time between the US president and his associate.
Gabbard, who had publicly expressed her disagreement with American involvement in Venezuela, found herself excluded from the critical meetings concerning the operation against Maduro.
At the White House, the decision to exclude her from the negotiations was so well known that, according to several officials, there were jokes about the acronym of her title, DNI, which supposedly meant “Do Not Invite.”
Gabbard, a former member of Congress and known for her fierce opposition to US military intervention in international conflicts, had stated in publications and interviews that America must remain out of Venezuela, emphasizing the importance of non intervention in the internal politics of other countries.
Her statements in 2019 about the need to “stay out of Venezuela” provoked strong reactions from Trump, who considered her policy dangerous for US interests in the region.
Gabbard’s exclusion from the operation plan was not the first indication that her relationship with the Trump administration has been shaken.
The politician herself has repeatedly expressed her opposition to foreign policy, especially regarding military interventions and regime change.
This removal from strategic meetings was expected, as Gabbard’s political stance runs counter to the interests of the American government under Trump, who consistently sought to overthrow regimes he considered hostile to the US.

The political stance of Gabbard

Although Gabbard did not actively participate in the strategic planning of the mission to remove Maduro from power, she had a significant presence in briefing the president on national security matters.
During her tenure, she focused on issues concerning American strategies in the region, particularly on the need to avoid military entanglements and regime change.
Gabbard has consistently emphasized the need for less American military intervention in areas such as Venezuela, while in the past she had accused US strategy aimed at regime change of being failed and destructive for the countries affected by this policy.
In the past, she had stated that the American government must stop trying to choose the leaders of other states, especially when this policy has led to incalculable risks and destruction for local societies.
“The future of Venezuela belongs exclusively to the Venezuelans.
And this is a principle that, if we want to call it global, must apply to everyone.
The United States must stay out of Venezuela.
Let the people of Venezuela determine their future.
We do not want other countries choosing our leaders, therefore we must stop trying to choose theirs,” Gabbard wrote on X on 3/1/2026, the day of the US military operation in Venezuela.

Division in the White House

Gabbard’s political stance has caused intense division within the Trump administration and among his supporters, with her often expressing views that run counter to the White House’s foreign policy.
Despite these differences, she continues to exert her influence, remaining head of the National Intelligence Service and performing duties of analysis and monitoring.
Trump, for his part, has publicly expressed his trust in Gabbard, despite their differences, emphasizing her importance in monitoring critical national security issues.
However, events show that differences in foreign policy remain intense and continuously affect her relationship with the president and the White House team.
Gabbard’s removal from the strategic planning for the operation against Maduro reveals the tension within the Trump administration and the internal rifts that have emerged due to contradictions in foreign policy.
Gabbard, although she did not participate directly in the operational side of the mission, continues to play a critical role in intelligence briefing and analysis, while her political approach remains one of the main reasons she continues to be a controversial figure within the American government.
