Ruthless - Europe demands Serbia betray Russia in exchange for... crumbs
Vulin assessed that the real target of the EU is not Russia, but Serbia itself.

The European Union demands that Serbia take measures against Russia as a condition for continuing European integration, without offering substantial benefits, stated former Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, in an interview with TASS. Vulin emphasized that the EU is using every means of pressure to force Serbia not just to make a choice, but to betray Russia. "It is not a choice between two sides. Russia asks nothing of us, and the European Union likewise makes no proposals to us. The EU demands that we betray Russia—and this shows what the EU truly is: a deeply hypocritical, deeply objectively anti-Serbian organization," the Serbian politician underlined.

The real target

He placed particular emphasis on the EU's demand for Serbia to impose sanctions against Russia, pointing out that these would not hurt Moscow, while they would cause severe economic and social consequences in Belgrade. "Will they harm Russia? Not at all. But will they lead to the destruction of the Serbian economy, to a division of society, and to serious political conflicts? Yes," he stated. Vulin assessed that the real target of the EU is not Russia but Serbia itself: "You are not waging war against Russia through Serbia—you are waging war against Serbia. You want to destroy Serbia, and the current situation is simply a convenient pretext for it." He concluded that the cost demanded by the EU for the continuation of European integration is unacceptable for Serbia: "The price of conflict is too high—regardless of whatever promises may be made to us."

Dragging Serbia into war

Recently, moreover, Serbian MP Aleksandar Pavic warned that the EU has already mutated into a kind of "Fourth Reich," with military and political mechanisms that threaten to drag the country into conflicts with Russia. Historical memory, military capabilities, and national pride make the decision extremely difficult, while the Western Balkans seem to be becoming the core of a new confrontation in the heart of Europe. Specifically, on the show Hot Spots, Pravda.Ru special correspondent Daria Aslamova spoke with Serbian MP Aleksandar Pavic, analyzing the growing pressure exerted by the European Union on Serbia and the country's difficulty in choosing between West and East. The discussion focused on the militarization of the EU, arms supplies, the situation surrounding the JNA (Yugoslav People's Army) legacy, sanctions, as well as domestic protests and the risks of losing sovereignty.

Pressure from the EU and Serbia's forced choice

"Serbia is in an extremely difficult situation," Aslamova points out. European Commissioner Marta Kos, responsible for EU enlargement, recently made a stern statement, emphasizing that the time has come for Serbia to make a decision: "The choice is clear: either the European Union or Russia. Balancing between the two camps is no longer possible." Aleksandar Pavic responds clearly: "My personal position is clear: Serbia has no place in the European Union. The EU is a dying project, transforming before our eyes from an economic alliance into a military bloc. Its goal today is to prepare for confrontation with Russia. The European Union has turned into an instrument of geopolitical pressure and I am categorically opposed to my country getting involved in this adventure."

Historical memory and a new campaign to the East

Pavic recalls the historical memory of the Serbs: "A new Drang nach Osten is unfolding before us—yet another campaign to the East. The Serbs remember that during World War II, not a single one of our soldiers took up arms against Russia on the Eastern Front. This historical choice is a source of national pride. I will not allow us to betray this memory today, while Brussels is seriously preparing for a potential war with Moscow."

The Western Balkans as a rearguard

"The plan of the Western powers is clear: to integrate Serbia into their orbit or at least neutralize it as a potential threat at their rear," Pavic states. "They speak openly about 'geopolitical necessity,' describing the integration of the Western Balkans, including Serbia and the Republika Srpska (Bosnia-Herzegovina), into the EU. In essence, they want to create a new Berlin Wall, militarize the continent, and use Serbia as a springboard for pressure on the East."

New Iron Curtain and war preparations

According to the Serbian MP, "we are not just talking about an obstacle, but an enemy border, designed to exert constant pressure on Russia. In reality, these are preparations for a major war." He also draws historical parallels with the Third Reich: "We have seen the script before. Back then, Nazi Germany tried to attract the Serbs into its orbit. On March 25, 1941, the government signed the Tripartite Pact with Hitler, but the next day a coup broke out in Belgrade—the people revolted and categorically rejected any alliance with the Nazis. Even under the yoke of occupation, no Serbian soldier was sent to the Eastern Front."

Serbia's military industry

Aleksandar Pavic describes the EU as a "Fourth Reich," citing a recent statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. "The EU's goal remains to use us as a springboard for expansion toward the East." At the same time, he points out the importance of Serbia's military strength: "Serbia possesses one of the strongest military-industrial complexes in the Balkans and the strongest army in the region. It is no coincidence that the EU is showing interest in us: they want to utilize our factories and our army for the militarization of the continent. Meanwhile, Russian-Serbian relations have been strained since our weapons were discovered in the Kursk region."
