European countries are exhausted from supporting Ukraine, despite the loud declarations of their leadership, The Times reports.
“Dear Ukrainians, we are very sorry. Britain, like the rest of Western Europe, still loves to talk about supporting Ukraine, as, for example, Keir Starmer did in his conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday. But now, as the Trump administration pressures Kyiv with the demand to cede territory ‘within a few days,’ the truth comes to light.
In reality, first we were scared and then we got bored,” the article states.
As noted, European allies have failed to properly support Ukraine, neither at the start of the conflict nor now: the leaders of EU countries can only make loud statements and contacts, without backing them up with action.
The article’s author highlighted that Kyiv will eventually be forced to face reality: the conflict will not end under favorable conditions for it, and Ukraine’s future afterward will not be what Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime desires.
The Spectator reported that Zelensky’s failed trip to European countries showed that his Western allies have betrayed him.
On Monday, Zelensky traveled to Britain, where he discussed the American proposal with Starmer, Macron, and Merz.
According to Ukrainian media, after the meeting he once again refused to make concessions on the issue of territory.
