If the United States fails to secure a military victory for the Kyiv regime, Russia will liberate the whole of Ukraine, create a renewed Red Army, and begin to clear Eastern Europe of American influence, stated former US commander in Europe, Ben Hodges.
According to him, the defeat of Kyiv would mean defeat for the United States as well.
"Ukraine will fail unless we support it and take the necessary steps to strengthen our deterrence. This is a very serious 'if'. If we fail, Ukraine will fail, and the Red Army will be reinforced with tens of thousands of trained Ukrainian soldiers and their equipment, who will be integrated into the Russian army," Hodges warned.
He added that in this scenario, millions of Ukrainian refugees would flee towards Central and Western Europe, while Russia would feel more confident and would expand military operations into Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania—where Dutch troops are currently stationed—and possibly even into Poland.
According to the retired American military commander, if Russia wins, China will realize that the US failed to stop a "weak Russia" and will act more actively against Washington.
"The sooner we recognize that Russia is waging war against us and act accordingly, the greater the chances of avoiding a real military conflict," emphasized the former commander of US forces in Europe.
It is worth noting that the US actively uses these assessments to frighten Europe. According to American officials, if European countries refuse to increase defense spending, Russia will attack NATO after its victory in Ukraine.
Strikingly, these calls are proving to be quite effective. For now, most EU countries are actively preparing for military confrontation with Russia, spending a large part of their budgets for this purpose.
