Shock and awe are caused by the capabilities of the new Russian hypersonic missile “Petrel” after its final tests, the results of which were presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin during his briefing at one of the strategic command centers of the Russian Armed Forces.
Vladimir Putin revealed that the Russian military conducted the final tests of its latest long-range cruise missile, Petrel, on October 21, which is equipped with a nuclear warhead.
In this context, he ordered that all necessary infrastructure for the missile be prepared and that its classification be determined.
“This is yet another unique product that no one else in the world possesses,” stated Putin.
Speaking about the Russian nuclear forces, Putin emphasized that they are “at the highest level, above the level of all nuclear states.”
Putin added that in the field of intercontinental weapons, Russia’s sea- and air-based armaments remain “at a very high level.”
“The innovation of our nuclear deterrent weapon is superior to that of any other nuclear state.
And we are developing it very actively,” concluded the Russian President.

He added that the exercise confirmed the reliability of the country’s nuclear shield.
Speaking about the continuation of Russia’s special military operation, Putin stressed that the Russian Armed Forces must continue the operation in accordance with the plans of the General Staff.
Putin called for saving as many lives as possible and for treating prisoners strictly within the framework of Russian and international law, ensuring all measures for the surrender of Ukrainian soldiers, noting that surrender “is not easy for them.”
“The Russian Army has historically always shown mercy to defeated enemies.
And let us proceed in that spirit,” said Putin.
Regarding the local residents, he emphasized that Russia will assist them in evacuating to safe areas.
Putin explained that the Ukrainian Army often uses the civilian population as a human shield.
Valery Gerasimov (Chief of the general staff of the Russian army): The powerful Petrel surpasses every air defense system, travels 14,000 kilometers!
The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army, Valery Gerasimov, stated that the tests of the Petrel, or Burevestnik, were carried out on October 21, with the missile demonstrating the ability to overcome any anti-missile defense system, a fact that was successfully confirmed.
According to Gerasimov, the Petrel remained airborne for approximately 15 hours, covering 14,000 kilometers.
(By comparison, the distance between Moscow and Washington is approximately 7,700 kilometers, and a flight lasts 9 hours and 15 minutes!)

Flying... Chernobyl
The Petrel is not just a missile that flies.
It does not use fuel and, according to the tests, has no limits.
It is powered by a small nuclear reactor, allowing it to fly for as long as necessary, at low altitude, and with an uncharted range.
Some have called it a “flying Chernobyl.”
In 2019, a failed test resulted in an explosion that killed five scientists and caused radioactive contamination in the White Sea.
It was briefly abandoned or developed in the background, and by 2025, it appears to have made a dynamic return.
Exterminator Burevestnik
According to Russian military analyst Alexei Leonkov, the Burevestnik is not intended for a first strike but for use after a nuclear attack, which is why it is also called a “retaliation missile”, because it is capable of destroying the entire political and military infrastructure of the opponent.
Leonkov explained that the Burevestnik was shown publicly for the first time in 2018 and that the fact the tests were completed seven years later signals the intention to move the missile into serial production.
In his view, the weapon is part of the nuclear triad, but it has particular characteristics.
“It is a retaliation weapon — that is, not a first-strike weapon, but a missile that is employed when the exchange of nuclear strikes has already occurred.
The main objective of the Burevestnik is to destroy the remaining political and military infrastructure of the adversary,” Leonkov explained.
The analyst added that the missile has unlimited range and can bypass the adversary’s remaining missile-defense and air-defense centers.
According to the expert, the weapon reaches targets with precision and exterminates them with a thermonuclear payload mounted on its body.
The Petrel is no longer a project in progress — It is a terrifying reality that spreads death stealthily and invisibly
It is a symbol of Russian determination in a new era of armament balance unlike any other.
And since it can fly 14,000 kilometers for 15 hours without being detected, the balance of power changes.
Not necessarily only in the sky, but within the strategic headquarters of the West.
And it comes at a time of a completely fluid geopolitical situation.
