The Russian Doomsday drone is coming – It will operate where humans cannot
Russia is developing a special FPV drone, named “Doomsday,” specifically designed to operate in radioactive zones.

Russia has completed the design and development phase of the FPV drone bearing the ominous name “Doomsday”. The drone is intended for situations where humans cannot set foot on the ground — after a nuclear attack, radioactive leak, or serious accident.

Its mission is to enter contaminated areas first, measure radiation, record damage, and transmit data to rescuers when communications are down and the air is too dangerous to breathe.

Dmitry Kuzyakin, Chief Designer at the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions, told TASS that the project is progressing actively, but details remain classified. He emphasized that the purpose is not the use of weapons, but the saving of lives in a potential worst-case scenario.

Doomsday is being developed under the Khrust Program. It is a versatile FPV drone with reinforced protection and a sensory module capable of withstanding strong radiation and chemical contamination.
The drone can remain airborne for up to 20 minutes, cover a range of 0.5 to 2 kilometers, and transmit images even under interference and radiation conditions.

The project has a dual purpose: not only for wartime conditions but also for rescue operations in nuclear and chemical plants, or any environment where human access is hazardous.

According to Kuzyakin, the drone will become part of a radiation and environmental monitoring system, enabling rescuers to assess the situation in real time and act immediately — when every minute counts.
