Following his phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin convened the permanent members of Russia’s Security Council at the Kremlin and provided a detailed briefing on the content of the discussion with his American counterpart.
This was reported to journalists by Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian President.
“Last night, immediately after the telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin gathered the permanent members of the Security Council at the Kremlin and briefed them in detail on the exchange of views he had with his American counterpart,” Ushakov noted.
It is worth noting that Putin and Trump held their 8th phone conversation of 2025 on the afternoon of Thursday, October 16.
The discussion lasted nearly 2.5 hours, making it one of their longest phone calls of the year.
