UN warning to Greece: Dragged into a “dirty war” for Israel’s dominance - Netanyahu will betray you
“Israel chose you and is about to exploit your fears and insecurity,” warns the UN official

The United Nations Special Rapporteur issued a shocking warning to our country, sounding the alarm over Greece’s blind alignment with the chariot and geopolitical plans of Israel.
Israel is using Greece to advance its regional objectives and will exploit its fears, stated more specifically the senior UN official for Middle East issues, Francesca Albanese.
“You think that you chose Israel. I don’t think so,” she said.

Israel chose you and is about to exploit your fears and your insecurity,” as reported by Al Jazeera.
Israel chose Greece to promote its regional ambitions and will exploit Greek fears and insecurity to achieve it, said the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine.

“Greeks think that Israel will protect them from Turkish aggression, but...”

Speaking at the presentation of her new book, “When the World Sleeps: Stories, Words and Wounds of Palestine,” at the Trianon cinema in Athens, Francesca Albanese warned that certain circles in Greece have a “misconception” about their alliance with Israel.

“You think that you chose Israel to secure peace from your eternal enemy. I don’t think so,” said Francesca Albanese.
Israel chose you. Israel chose you and is about to exploit your fears and your insecurity, because that is what Israel does to promote its regional hegemony”.

The dangerous “Israelization” of Greece

At the event also participated the former Minister of Finance Yanis Varoufakis, who observed that Greece “constitutes the greatest example of ‘Israelization’. more than any other country in Europe”.
Francesca Albanese specifically criticized the Greek authorities for their cooperation with Israel in intercepting the humanitarian flotilla Sumud, which was heading toward Gaza, off Crete on Friday 1/5.

“The fact that the Greek authorities go hand in hand with the Israelis to stop a humanitarian mission is a major fault,” she stressed.

International exposure for Greece - Anadolu: “Silence of Mitsotakis on the Israeli operation in Crete”

Meanwhile, amid intensifying discussions about whether Israel’s attack on the global flotilla “Sumud” was carried out with the knowledge of Athens, the Greek authorities have made no statement clarifying the situation, emphasizes the Turkish agency Anadolu.
Specifically, the Mitsotakis government, after the attack by the Israeli army on the Flotilla “Sumud”, which was heading toward Gaza to break the blockade and deliver vital humanitarian aid.
The attack occurred approximately 600 nautical miles from the Palestinian enclave and a few miles away from Greek territorial waters.
In a post by the activist group “March to Gaza Greece” on social media, it is stated that “Israel attacked the Freedom Flotilla with the direct assistance of Greece. The vessels of the flotilla were illegally blocked in Greece’s search and rescue zone, while the Hellenic Coast Guard was watching passively”.
“Our flotilla is under attack west of Crete in Greece’s search and rescue zone. Military speedboats, which claim to be ‘Israeli’, are approaching the vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla, targeting them with lasers and weapons. Passengers are ordered to move to the bow of the vessel and kneel with their hands on the floor,” wrote on social media the activist Iasonas Apostolopoulos, who also participated in the previous mission of the flotilla in September 2025.

The signals ignored by the Greek coast guard and the takeover of Greek waters by the IDF

According to the activist, despite the MAYDAY distress signals from a large number of vessels, the Greek coast guard has not responded.
“The Greek authorities should have intervened immediately and ensured the safety of the people who sent the SOS signal,” he said.
Another Greek activist, who planned to join the flotilla on May 3 and wishes to remain anonymous, told Anadolu that Greece may be actively involved.
“We are trying to understand what happened. We called the Ministry of Shipping, but we did not receive a clear answer.
One thing is clear: the distress signals sent by the vessels were within Greece’s SAR search and rescue zone and Greece knew it. Nevertheless, timely assistance was not provided to the vessels,” he stated.
