Questions are being raised over the presence of Pavlos Christidis from PASOK at the luncheon organized by the lobbying organization Israel Allies Foundation, on October 12, at the Athens Club.
At the same table were top ministers from ND, Antonis Samaras, MPs, and the Ambassador of Israel to Greece, Yifat Yanai.
The issue, however, is the stance of PASOK.
A party that has expressed positions regarding the protection of Palestinians, has criticized military operations in Gaza, and has highlighted the humanitarian crisis, what exactly was it representing at a meeting organized by an organization with a clear pro-Israel orientation?
Did Pavlos Christidis attend with the approval of the leadership of PASOK, or on his own initiative?
Was there a specific institutional agenda or political understanding?
His presence demands explanations.
Especially when top government officials, Antonis Samaras, and a former MP of the Spartans are sitting at the same table...
The image inevitably raises questions about future political convergences, many say.
PASOK must clarify the framework and purpose of this participation.
