Greek shipping suffered a new blow in the Strait of Hormuz.
The LNG carrier «Maran Gas Mystras», belonging to the group of Maria Angelicoussi, was struck by an unknown object while navigating in the broader maritime area.
According to the Ministry of Shipping, no injuries were reported from the incident. The vessel remains operational, continues its course under its own power, and is heading toward the anchorage of Fujairah.
There are 11 Greek seafarers aboard the ship who, according to reports, are in good health.
It is noted that the Maran Gas Mystras is the 13th vessel to come under attack within barely one week, after Iran escalated its attacks on September 29 against ships affiliated with Western interests, following the collapse of diplomatic talks with the US on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
According to the logging of incidents by the UKMTO, the remaining 12 vessels that have sustained strikes comprise 11 tankers and one LPG carrier.
