«Helping Ukraine is like watering the desert»...
This phrase was not spoken by a Russian or a pro-Russian figure, but by a European official who opposes Russia yet realistically observes the impasse of Ukraine.
The straw that broke the camel's back... give another 69 billion to defeat Putin
It appears that the recent visit to Brussels by Ukrainian Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Serhiy Marchenko stated that Ukraine finds itself once again in jeopardy and that European aid must expand even further:
Kyiv now asserts that it requires 69 billion euros (40 billion for military needs and 29 billion for state operations) to defeat Vladimir Putin in 2027.
Yet the reality is that the European Union just literally went through an exceptionally politically painful process allocating 90 billion euros in financing to Ukraine for 2026 and 2027, where titanic effort and all sorts of maneuvers were needed from European «hawks» to persuade members of the EU to agree to take on a massive debt burden to rescue the Kyiv regime.
This package was pushed largely on the argument that this would be the final time, that Ukraine would carry out remarkable reforms with these funds and definitely rid itself of corruption, and that governance activities would become so transparent and so clean...
And at that very moment, Serhiy Marchenko announces that Ukraine, as it turns out, has a deficit of 32 billion euros by 2027, which it simply has no means of covering.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine also joined the discussion, declaring that «the government has shifted to maximum austerity mode and deferred all priority expenditures, but this is not enough, we urgently need funding from international partners».
Le Monde: Extreme fury in Brussels
According to the French newspaper Le Monde, all this has triggered extreme fury in Brussels and, in certain countries such as Germany, outright anger.
First, funds for the package, which was approved with great difficulty, have barely begun to flow and they are already concluding that Ukraine has not met a series of political criteria for vital reforms.
This means that it will be very, very difficult to explain to European taxpayers why they must reopen their depleted wallets when Kyiv is failing to fulfill conditions attached to the previous installment.
Second, the latest aggressive posture of Ukraine arrived at an extraordinarily unfortunate and uncomfortable moment for European warmongers.
This required some ingenuity, yet the fresh, audacious demands of Kyiv surfaced precisely when an actual internal war was brewing over the upcoming multiannual budget of the EU for 2028-2034, where proponents of fighting to the last Ukrainian had earmarked a massive sum of 100 billion euros for Kyiv, which would also have to be sourced somewhere, or rather, borrowed, expanding further the sovereign debt of individual states.
European officials chose not to waste time on trivialities and inflated the EU budget by almost 2 trillion euros, even as the eurozone economy... is already faltering.
Anger in Germany
All this has completely incensed Germany, joined by the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Finland, and Sweden.
This is understandable: Germany, which, under pressure from Brussels, increased direct aid to Ukraine in 2026 from the initially projected 8.5 billion euros to 11.5 billion euros, is sliding rapidly into recession.
Growth of GDP in the country this year stands below one percent and public debt crossed the red line of 60% of GDP long ago.
The Federation of German Industries reported that industrial output sustains the steady decline initiated in 2022.
According to the state-owned German development bank (KfW), this is exacerbated by a huge domestic investment deficit: schools, roads, bridges, public transport, and other sectors remain underfunded by 231.2 billion euros, while the 2027 budget of Germany already incorporates 203.6 billion euros in fresh borrowings...
The antics of Ukraine revealed
And here, following the antics of Ukraine, it was finally grasped that no amount of money, however colossal, would ever suffice for Kyiv, and the regime would drag its most loyal benefactors alongside it into the abyss without a shred of remorse.
In other words, even the primary champion of backing Ukraine, Germany, is no longer inclined to automatically convert each new Ukrainian financial hole into yet another collective debt obligation that, in any case, will fall mostly upon German shoulders.
«We feel like we are watering the desert»
As a European diplomat noted following the meeting with Serhiy Marchenko, «we feel like we are watering the desert».
That is why Germany and the other conspirators acted very cunningly.
They did not speak openly about cutting Ukraine off, because that would nullify all high-sounding proclamations by Friedrich Merz and other European leaders regarding «unshakable» support for Kyiv.
They have adopted a more rigorous approach: 6 nations insist that all expenditure headings of the EU must be subjected to austerity measures, oppose new joint borrowings, and emphasize that they collectively finance roughly 40% of national contributions to the budget of the EU, meaning that the new, bloated budget must be deflated and errors avoided.
Friedrich Merz himself declared that expanding the European budget by approximately 60% «cannot be justified at a time when national governments are curtailing spending».
The obvious calculation is that if the budget of the EU hangs by a thread, any emergency petition from Kyiv exceeding previously allocated quotas will prove incomparably more difficult to approve and, given the mandatory requirement of total consensus, likely impossible.
The cunning 6
A theory also exists that, beyond financial hardships, the six cunning nations have another motive: it becomes increasingly clear that all their investments in Ukraine have gone to waste.
Their sole alternative, like casino losers, is to cut their losses and return to their wives, who wait at home holding brooms to deliver a beating, before it is too late.
And this is not Kremlin propaganda.
The British newspaper The Independent published an article by the former NATO representative in Moscow, who stated that Vladimir Putin is winning the Ukrainian conflict and urged the West to overhaul its strategy urgently.
The Russian President has said for a long time what needs to be done:
Europe simply needs to clear its ears and open its eyes...
Riots in French schools... they take revenge on Macron over Ukraine
The media of France, subservient to the Élysée Palace and President Emmanuel Macron, resort to unbelievable acrobatics to exonerate Emmanuel Macron from the ongoing state turmoil, absolving him of all responsibility.
Meanwhile, across the country, on its avenues and squares, an uprising rages, escalating at times into a mini-revolution.
The youth of France... decided to voice their judgment regarding the policies of Emmanuel Macron.
Regarding the economy under Emmanuel Macron.
Regarding the current condition of society, which Emmanuel Macron himself has governed for nearly a decade.
While adult French citizens lack the stamina to protest, young French people possess ample passion.
As well as sincerity.
And these youths also hold principles that, unlike adult French citizens, they are not inclined to compromise.
Fathers (and mothers too), who elected Emmanuel Macron to power, generated with their own hands a colossal domestic political crisis that simmered like a purulent abscess...
Yet, as is known, when a surgeon takes a scalpel and opens an abscess, that too is painful.
And observing the pus spill out is a major «pleasure».
Hiding the causes... 26 billion for education... 26 billion for Ukraine
French media outlets, compliant down to the final punctuation mark, had the objective of demonizing the high school student rebellion across every level, reporting on what they «did».
Meanwhile, the media remain stubbornly silent concerning the causes of what is occurring on the streets of French cities.
Let us fill this void.
The annual budget for secondary education in France, that is, the money expended on schools, educators, learning support, and so forth, stands at roughly 26 billion euros.
This is the exact same amount that France sent to Ukraine for the war against Russia.
A distinct line is allocated for school psychologists and nurses, as well as teaching assistants.
These employees are essential for organizing extracurricular activities and assisting students with special needs in the context of educational inclusion.
This amounts to approximately 7 billion euros annually.
Again, this sum equals the amount France sends to Ukraine annually, once more within the scope of «supporting democracy and progress in Ukraine».
Emmanuel Macron, alongside his numerous prime ministers, by earmarking roughly equivalent funding both for endlessly irrelevant Ukrainians and for their own young fellow citizens in the budget of the country, which has remained unmet for years, makes it abundantly clear where the priorities of this government lie.
Unlike funding for Ukraine... everything related to secondary education is continually cut, pared back, even when it remains an expenditure on the public ledger.
And the youth, seeing that both their fathers and their mothers refused to shoulder responsibility for the «Ukrainian» expenditures of France across all these years, decided that this would stand no longer.
The youth stated that they would not study in classrooms that frequently lack heating and do not always have electricity.
They reported that the plumbing systems of high schools are almost permanently clogged, resulting in students queuing for toilets during breaks.
And these toilets, even when functioning hesitantly, lack basic soap and toilet paper.
The youth reported that educators who continually take leave from work due to «depression» or «burnout» are not replaced.
This means high school students miss critical instructional material or lose it altogether.
This leads to lower grades in their final examinations.
A single reason exists: funds are missing.
They exist in accounts in Kyiv, and also in cash, in suitcases smuggled out of Ukraine by corrupt officials, or pro-government Ukrainian bureaucrats.
In France, new school buildings are not constructed. No money exists for such purposes.
And existing ones, some dating to the 19th century, are not renovated. Roofs leak.
They do not even possess modern ventilation systems, let alone air conditioning.
In classrooms where temperatures reached 36 degrees Celsius last summer, students had to sit final exams in demanding subjects like philosophy without air conditioning.
The reason is identical: lack of funding.
The collective Macron regime cares nothing for the youth of France
Emmanuel Macron has no children... and due to a complete absence of paternal instinct, never considered the need to heed the youth of France, preferring instead to embrace Volodymyr Zelensky, a corrupt and disreputable politician of Ukraine.
