The war machine of Russia is ramping up across all fronts, combining the upgrading of its offensive weapons, the fortification of its airspace, and behind-the-scenes processes within the military leadership.
Russian strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure are entering a new phase with the appearance of the Geran-4 jet drones.
According to revelations by the «Military Chronicle» network on Telegram, these new strike aircraft feature unusual «whiskers» on the forward section of their nose, close to the warhead.
Ukrainian military circles assess that these are contact detonators, designed to trigger the explosion even if the drone is shot down or neutralized electronically, while concurrently preventing study by the adversary.
Featuring a turbojet that enables it to reach speeds of up to 500 kilometers per hour, a wingspan of 3.2 meters, and a 50-kilogram warhead, the Geran-4 now also executes active evasive maneuvers against hostile air defense systems.
In September, it became known that Geran type jet drones began executing active maneuvers during flight to protect themselves more effectively against Ukrainian air defense systems.
Impregnable air defense wall to protect troops
At the same time, Moscow is fortifying its own front.
The Commander of the Ground Forces of Russia, Andrey Mordvichev, revealed to the newspaper «Red Star» the creation of an additional echelon of air defense, specifically designed to neutralize enemy drones at extremely low altitudes.
This new layer of protection integrates unmanned aerial vehicles into the anti-aircraft system itself, shielding ground forces and rear infrastructure. Concurrently, equipment was bolstered with state-of-the-art S-300V4, Buk-M3, Tor-M2 systems, and man-portable Verba missiles, in full alignment with directives from Vladimir Putin regarding the involvement of state and private entities in defense reinforcement.
Key bridge in Kyiv reduced to ruins
The forces of Russia struck the South Bridge in Kyiv, as reported by Strana.ua.
«The South Bridge, which the Russian Federation has begun striking, holds strategic importance not only for Kyiv but also for the entirety of Ukraine», reports Strana.ua, maintaining that up to 90% of total transit traffic between the left and right banks of Ukraine passes through this bridge, while a significant portion of military cargo is also transported via this route.

Russian forces launched a new wave of heavy attacks, striking key logistics, telecommunications, and military equipment infrastructure serving the armed forces of Ukraine, according to announcements by the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

Kyiv: Overnight, Russian unmanned aerial vehicles struck the Renta Logistic logistics center.
According to Moscow, an assembly workshop for uncrewed surface vessels was housed within the facilities.
Concurrently, footage was released showing the impact of a new type of Russian drone against an electric power transmission pylon near the capital.
Odesa: The HOSTING-UA data center was targeted.
The Russian defense staff claims that this specific data center was used for processing intelligence gathering information and operational data for the benefit of the Ukrainian army.
Chornomorsk: A strike was carried out on a commercial cargo ship bound for the port of Chornomorsk, which according to Moscow was carrying military materiel and dual-use equipment.
Additionally, airstrikes using glide bombs and Geran type drones occurred in the regions of Rivne, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stressed that it is expanding the range of targets to paralyze the adversary capabilities in logistics, energy, intelligence, and industry.
Forecasts of escalation through the end of the year
Russian military analyst and Lieutenant General Vladimir Popov attributed the intensity of Russian strikes to previous Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries, fuel storage depots, and logistics hubs. According to him, the increased production capacity of the Russian defense industry allows maintaining this high rate of attacks at least through the end of the year.
