Poll shock for New Democracy over school textbooks, Samaras gains
Reports point to a telephone survey of 1,100 voters of New Democracy, in which a decline for Sofia Zacharaki is registered

Kyriakos Mitsotakis may have provided public political cover to Sofia Zacharaki, but the issue surrounding the school textbooks seems to leave its mark within New Democracy.
The textbooks for the second and sixth grades of primary school, which are scheduled to be introduced starting in the 2027-2028 school year, include references to different forms of family, among them the «family with two parents of the same sex».

East Attica, where the conservative audience of New Democracy carries particular weight, appears to have seen this debate open in earnest.

Indeed, reports point to a telephone survey of 1,100 voters of New Democracy, in which a retreat for Sofia Zacharaki is recorded.
However, what is also registered, and this is even more significant, is a decline for New Democracy in the large constituency as yet another woke policy affecting the education of our children took place.

And this is not the first time

Recall how much the unnecessary law on same-sex marriage had cost, which ultimately did not concern a large population judging by the data on marriages performed since the law was enacted.
Yet back then we also witnessed the following tragic occurrence.
The court issuing adoption orders to same-sex couples, something the law explicitly excluded.
Just as hardline right-wingers in the government ruled it out, saying that we do not touch the family!
Now the textbooks have arrived as well, bringing fresh turmoil that is now visible in the polls.
Let them not wonder afterwards why people are turning toward Antonis Samaras!
