Shortly after the expiration of the three-day ceasefire ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the visit by American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Russia launched one of its fiercest air raids, pounding Kyiv and Odesa with hundreds of missiles and drones, targeting the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine.
From the sweeping attack using at least 80 Kh-101 cruise missiles and approximately 40 Iskander-M missiles, along with Zircon and Oniks missiles and at least 166 drones, a series of military targets were destroyed in Kyiv and Odesa, while dozens of fires broke out, with Ukrainian authorities reporting 2 dead and 10 injured.

The Flamingo factory in flames

Drones with a range of 450 km turned to ash
Furthermore, the Russians struck the enterprise «Combat Birds of Ukraine» in the city of Bila Tserkva, in the Kyiv region, where unmanned aerial vehicles with a flight range of 450 kilometers were being developed, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced.

The air raid alert that sounded during the night in Kyiv and its region lasted several hours, while multiple explosions were reported in the city.

A new series of explosions occurred 15 to 20 minutes after the first, while a large fire broke out in the city.

During the night, explosions were also recorded in the Boryspil area, where industrial enterprises were hit, in the Fastiv area of the Kyiv region, as well as in Brovary, in Vasylkiv (where a military airfield is located), and in the Bucha area.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported a fire in the Holosiivskyi district, as well as fire outbreaks in non-residential areas of Podilskyi and Darnytskyi.
By 06:00 in the morning, the air raid alert in Kyiv had ended.
However, warning signals continued to sound in the regions of Chernihiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk.
Drone warehouse in Odesa turned to ash, tanker also in flames
The Russian Armed Forces struck an assembly workshop and warehouse for unmanned aircraft in Odesa, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced.

«During the night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a massive strike with high-precision ground-, air-, and sea-based weapons, as well as long-range strike unmanned aerial vehicles.
As a result, facilities of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine used for the production and storage of unmanned aircraft and cruise missiles were struck, as well as transportation, logistics, and transit hubs for military cargo in the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv region», the announcement by the Ministry of Defense of Russia states.
In addition, it is reported that Russian armed forces struck a tanker carrying fuel and lubricants intended for Ukrainian forces.

What the Ukrainians say
For their part, the Ukrainians, referring to the latest massive Russian attack, were unable to determine how many Iskander, M/S-400, and KN-23 missiles the Russians attacked with.
However, they claimed to have shot down 2 Iskander missiles.
In their relevant statement, they maintain that the Russians attacked with:
1) Oniks anti-ship missiles from the Bryansk and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from the territories of Crimea;
2) Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk and Voronezh regions of the Russian Federation;
3) 32 Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles from the Vologda region of the Russian Federation;
4) 166 Shahed-type strike UAVs (more than half were «Gerbera» type decoy drones) from the directions of Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation, as well as from the territories of Donetsk and from Hvardiiske in Crimea.
According to the Ukrainians, the primary directions of the attack were the Odesa region and the Kyiv region.
Indeed, they maintain that the air attack was confronted by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defense had shot down/suppressed 175 targets:
1) 2 Iskander-M/KN-23/S-400/Oniks ballistic missiles;
2) 31 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles;
3) 142 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types.
Impacts of missiles and strike UAVs were recorded at 29 locations, as well as falls of downed targets or debris at 9 locations.
Extensive devastation
Destruction and fires were recorded in at least five districts of the capital, as reported by municipal authorities and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
In the Holosiivskyi district, a 26-story non-residential building was damaged, with destruction at the level of the 23rd floor.
At another location, a fire broke out in garages, spreading to a non-residential building and a business center.
In the Solomianskyi district, people were trapped in a five-story residential building.
Ten people were evacuated from the scene.
In the Podilskyi district, a storage facility, cars, and garages are burning.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha called on allies to provide Kyiv with interceptor missiles nearing their expiration date following the overnight strikes by Russia.
