Damage under evaluation
According to information from international media outlets, the company's oil infrastructure was struck on Monday, and the damage is currently being assessed, according to two people with knowledge of the matter. As Saudi Arabia's closest industrial city to the border with Yemen, Jizan has been repeatedly attacked by Houthi rebels in the past. Saudi Aramco Chief Executive Officer Amin Nasser stated last month that the attacks had caused some oil production disruptions, but had no material operational or financial impact. The latest attack was of a similar scale to last month's strike, according to one of the individuals familiar with the matter.
Oil on the rise
In the wake of the strike on Saudi Aramco facilities, crude oil responded positively. Specifically, US WTI is gaining 0.75% to $92.17, while Brent crude is up 1.14% to $97.38.
