According to subsequent information from the USA, an American military helicopter opened fire on a Panama-flagged ship amid the effort to enforce a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
The incident involves the Vela Nova, which was initially reported to have likely been hit by a missile while sailing approximately 71 nautical miles off the coast of Pakistan.
However, the Wall Street Journal reveals that a US helicopter fired at the ship's rudder after its crew ignored warnings from personnel participating in the blockade operation.

Iran «tightens» the vice in Hormuz

Concurrently, figures show the exit of two ships from the Strait, including a small vessel carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and another vessel carrying residual fuel. This occurs while, in the days prior to the start of the war, typically 130 to 140 ships transited the specific Strait.
The spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also emphasized that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz «is conditional upon the full acceptance of our terms by Washington».
Harsh warning from Iran: «We will not back down before any threat»
At the same time, Iran sends a clear message that the situation will not be dealt with unilaterally. The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Mohsen Rezaei, in his message underlined that Iran «will not back down before any threat» regarding the rights and interests of the Iranian people.
Rezaei emphasized that Tehran's decisions must now be made with greater determination, «with a precise understanding of the situation, prudence, and courage», while sending a particularly clear message in the event of a new attack. As he stated, in the field of foreign policy, the core principle will be strengthening deterrence capability, resistance against adversary imposition, and a «direct and decisive response to any form of aggression».
Concurrently, he emphasized that Iran will utilize the capabilities of diplomacy while maintaining the country's readiness against any threat.
