Cyclades shopkeeper adds 28% surcharge to pita gyro for card payments

In the Cyclades, where summer prices have gone uphill anyway, a souvlaki shop owner seems to have decided to raise the bar even higher.
Or, to be precise, the price of the pita gyro.
The customer ordered a pita gyro that was listed on the menu for 4.70 euros.
So far, so good, or let's say good...
However, when he informed that he would pay by card, he was informed that the price changes.
From 4.70 euros, it skyrocketed to 6 euros.
The worst part, though, was not the surcharge of 1.30 euros - an increase of nearly 28% in the price of the pita gyro - but the shopkeeper's disarming explanation: «Card payments have consequences».
Only that the... «card fee» was not listed on the menu.
The customer found out at the register...
Because, as it seems, on the island that these days fills up with pilgrims and vacationers, you don't just pay for the pita gyro.
You also pay for the... consequences of the card.
