«People don't want us, they are tired of us» - this phrase is attributed to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the government source who spoke to BN is very reliable.
Essentially, these are mistakes that Mitsotakis recognizes and for which he himself may not be responsible... but he allowed them to evolve, so as head of the government... he naturally gathers society's fire from the failures and blunders...
ND has no narrative... it has lost its momentum and simply exhausted people... the public now clearly - and completely reasonably - expresses discontent.
This recognition is of great importance because Mitsotakis essentially recognizes that the 8-year governance has now fatigued society...
A barrage of negative news, scandals, failures, an unacceptable attack on the European Public Prosecutor's Office, coverage of fraudsters at OPEKEPE, horribly failed communication tactics over Tempi, useless individuals favored by the system, inability to manage the party's finances, and a multitude of other failures centered around high prices have indeed exhausted the public...
Unfortunately, the truth is as follows... within the government there are 5-6 serious and worthy ministers, all the rest are tragic mediocrities, incompetent, useless, arrogant, and dishonest.

Based on certain information, Mitsotakis sees that the arithmetic is not working out for him.
ND is heading for 27% to 28% in the good scenario and below 25% in the bad scenario for their plans...
Mitsotakis currently holds 156 MPs, and if he goes to elections now, he would get 116 MPs, which would be a disaster.
He has decided to go to elections on May 23 or 30, 2027, and not in October on October 25, 2026, as some report.
