Secret Gerapetritis-Diamantopoulou dinner triggering coalition talks stirs wild backlash across ND and PASOK
Gerapetritis, Diamantopoulou, and Christodoulakis rushed in panic to deny all rumors regarding a coalition

Everyone has lost their composure, and it shows.

The government and Charilaou Trikoupi are up in arms over rumors circulating about an ND - PASOK coalition of... statute of limitations, triggered by a dinner between Giorgos Gerapetritis and Anna Diamantopoulou, with top officials rushing to deny them.

An article by Manolis Kottakis in Estia caused panic for Giorgos Gerapetritis, Anna Diamantopoulou, and Manolis Christodoulakis.

According to the front page article of the newspaper Estia, signed by the journalist who is a close friend of two of the three (about whom none of them said a word), under the title "Gerapetritis-Diamantopoulou dinner for a coalition of statute of limitations!", the alleged dinner at which the "ambitious dauphin Manolis Christodoulakis" was also present took place at the home of a leading businessman, the former residence of publisher Stavros Psycharis, where scenarios of challenging Nikos Androulakis from the first Sunday of the elections and post election cooperation between ND and PASOK were discussed.

Gerapetritis

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Gerapetritis characterizes the article of the newspaper Estia as completely false and calls on the newspaper to retract.

"Both the article and the visual material are in their entirety completely false and figments of imagination," he emphasizes.

Indeed he adds: "I assume that a similar categorical denial will also exist on behalf of the mentioned officials of PASOK, whom I have never met privately."

"At a minimum I expect the complete and immediate retraction of the article by the newspaper," he concludes.

Diamantopoulou

With a post on social media, the head of Strategic Planning of PASOK Anna Diamantopoulou denies "completely today's, extremely false and slanderous article of the newspaper Estia tis Kyriakis, regarding an alleged dinner of Gerapetritis, Diamantopoulou, and Christodoulakis for a 'coalition of statute of limitations'".

She calls on the newspaper "to deny it and recall it immediately, but also to apologize for the slanderous article."

"It goes without saying that, if it does not do so immediately, I reserve all my rights, according to the law," she notes.

"It is well known that I am never deterred by attacks, let alone by such despicable fabrications.

I continue with decency, but also with the same strength and the same passion, to fight with all my strength for the political change and purification that the country needs," emphasizes Ms. Diamantopoulou.

Christodoulakis

From his side, the PASOK MP Manolis Christodoulakis also categorically denied the meeting, speaking of an "absolutely false, unfounded, slanderous, and insulting to my personality article" and adds: "No more games, not even half a centimeter of tolerance for organized slander, against my person, but also against PASOK as a whole! [...]

The efforts of political targeting and smearing of my personality, as well as of my political space, are not going to halt my public activity."

And Marinakis!

The funny thing is that the non-involved government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis also issued a statement, emphasizing that: The reaction against fake news, against organized character assassinations is a matter of survival for our democracy...

Keep your cool brothers...
