The United States has essentially failed in its attempt to manage and control the Strait of Hormuz, while the overall defensive, missile, and geopolitical superiority of Iran has led the American military into a deep strategic impasse, stated the Ambassador of Iran to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani.
“The Strait of Hormuz is once again at the center of global attention.
This vital energy artery currently resembles a “glowing sphere” in the hands of the White House politicians and strategic planners, while every second spent trying to control it entails ever greater losses, both in terms of prestige and at an economic level” the Iranian diplomat points out.
According to Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, the dangerous and complex game started by the United States with the resumption of attacks against Iran has reached a critical point of no return, proving, as he argued, the “essential failure of Washington to manage and control this strategically important sea route,” despite the continuous denials and skepticism of American officials toward the new reality.
“Older claims of absolute control over the Persian Gulf and the myth that American aircraft carriers constitute the sole guarantor of regional security have now been replaced by the undeniable reality of Iran's comprehensive defensive, missile, and geopolitical superiority,” he stressed.
He argued that this superiority and the new balance of power have trapped the American military in a deep tactical and strategic impasse, from which it can neither start nor continue a full-scale military operation against Iran, nor withdraw without suffering a severe blow to its prestige as a superpower.
According to Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, the apparent weakness of the United States in the military field intensifies fears that any accidental incident or miscalculation in the Strait of Hormuz could develop into a catastrophic, prolonged, and exhausting regional war.
As he added, military planners in Washington know very well that any reckless military action in this sea route could immediately trigger a generalized conflagration across the entire region.
