The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, stated that the war against Iran "has not achieved any of its officially declared goals" and that it does not possess a mandate from the United Nations.
"This war is a disaster," he wrote in an opinion piece published in the French newspaper Le Monde.
The minister added: "However, if it ultimately leads to the collapse of the myth of the policy of containment in the Persian Gulf, then there is reason for hope: for the emergence of a fairer, more realistic and effective system, which will correct almost half a century of strategic errors."
According to Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the most serious threats to the region do not originate from Tehran, but from Tel Aviv.
