Ultimately, they deceived Russia again. A vile, repeated deception while Russia demonstrated a willingness to compromise with the collective West… the US used the spirit of Alaska, the "spirit of Anchorage, Alaska" is a fiction, a trick to lure Russia, which truly tried with sincerity to resolve the Ukrainian issue. At the same time, we see escalation everywhere; the entire West has not backed down a millimeter. However, the dirty trick is that through ploys, the West delayed the fatal end of Ukraine, which they continue to prepare for attacks with drones and terrorist strikes. The Ukrainians know they are losing on the battlefield; the Russian army cannot be defeated, and they have chosen a dirty war to stay alive, serving the insidious and vile plans of the West. The situation will deteriorate after the NATO summit in Turkey on July 7–8, 2026.
Putin repeats the same mistake
Putin is repeating Stalin's mistake by trusting the enemy. The Russian president does not know—or pretends not to know—what everyone knows about Trump: that the "spirit of Anchorage" is a fiction, a trick to lure Russia. Stalin, preparing the USSR for war but wanting to gain as much as possible from Germany, deceived himself regarding Hitler almost until the end, refusing to believe he would attack, for which the people paid a terrible price. What do these examples have in common, and what are the differences?
What lessons must be drawn?
In an interview with Vesti, Russian President Putin expressed doubts at least four times that President Trump, whom he often refers to simply as "Donald," has moved away from the "spirit of Anchorage, Alaska," something the US no longer hides and for which the Russians are simply ridiculed by supporting a scam…
-
"I don't know anything about that."
-
"I doubt that is possible."
-
"I don't know anything about that yet."

Trump signed a joint statement against Russia
At the last G7 summit, European allies and Canada had actually convinced Trump to change his approach to resolving the conflict in Ukraine, ignoring Russia's concerns and minimal demands. Trump signed the joint statement and the summit declarations. And he did this completely calmly, without betraying anyone, as he always thinks first of himself and then of the interests of the US.
What did the West gain with Alaska?
A year ago, he needed Alaska, where Russia moderated its already modest demands. Now, he does not, since Russia simply has no more concessions to make… Furthermore, Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Rubio previously stated that the US is not neutral and supports Ukraine. Just recently, he reiterated in Bahrain: no agreement was reached between the presidents of the US and Russia in Alaska. If there had been an agreement, our war would have ended, Rubio emphasized.
Russia knew there was no agreement
Russia knew there was no agreement: it is no coincidence that Russia spoke about the spirit of Anchorage, Alaska, but not about an agreement. While Rubio often lies, in this case, he is telling the truth. And Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov has been telling the truth for a long time. The essence of his statements on the matter is this: if the "spirit of Anchorage, Alaska" ever existed, it did not last long, until Washington, under pressure from its allies, demanded new concessions from Russia. Anchorage, Alaska "was already a compromise," but now the Americans are demanding "a few more concessions" from Russia, and Russia has nothing left to give because the concessions have run out.
The West is not an honest mediator
Now Russia declares: "All Western proposals and all hopes for the West as an honest mediator have failed long ago—there is simply no reason to take them seriously." "Alaska" was designed to buy time to arm Ukraine.
Anchorage, Alaska stole a year of military preparation
Trump needed Anchorage, Alaska, we repeat, because Russia made concessions. Now it is not needed, since there are no more concessions from the Russians. Anchorage, Alaska stole a year of preparation for a major war from Russia. Thanks to this plan, the last two cities, Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, have not yet been captured (they hoped the Americans would convince Zelensky to withdraw the Ukrainian Armed Forces from there). Deep in Russia's rear, civilians are being bombed and killed by drones and missiles, which the Westerners have meanwhile provided to the Ukrainians.
Things will get much worse... what will happen on July 7–8, 2026?
At the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey on July 7–8, 2026, Russia will face new strikes, because the demonization of Russia is the only way to prevent the dissolution of NATO. It is also the only way for Trump—who has trusted the neoconservatives and broken with the MAGA electorate due to the failure of his efforts to restore the health of the United States—to remain in office until the end of his term.
And Putin... does he know it?
A reasonable question arises: does Putin know about the Alaska trick? Why does the Kremlin dream of seeing Witkoff and Kushner again, who were trying to fool Putin, since they will demand new concessions? The so-called spirit of Anchorage, Alaska, although not enshrined in any official document and signed by no one, discussed certain possibilities for ending the conflict in Ukraine, and the compromises discussed were precisely the proposals made by the American side to Russia. A compromise was offered. Russia went to Anchorage, Alaska and said: "Yes, we agree." Well, Witkoff and Kushner will probably announce it when they appear in Moscow after the end of the "warm phase" on the Iranian front. "Anchorage, Alaska" must deepen.
In what is Russia wrong?
Meanwhile, Putin believes that Trump is "a more than mature and experienced politician" and that it will not be possible to "convince" him to change his stance toward Russia. It is true that it will not work, because it is... unnecessary. Trump is an opportunist and an excellent negotiator: if he sees weakness anywhere or in anyone, he will push. The "spirit" and "understanding" do not interest him. He wants results, a signed document that will formalize... Russia's defeat, because the West will not forgive Trump for letting Russia win in Ukraine, effectively leading to a defeat for the entire West.
NATO tries to strengthen its presence in the Black Sea with the Sea Breeze 2026 exercises
NATO seeks to strengthen its presence in the Black Sea region, the Russian side stated. "These activities are primarily aimed at countering challenges and threats to Russia's security, including the strategically important Black Sea region, where the alliance is trying to strengthen its presence." The NATO Breeze exercise began in the region on July 1 and is led by the Bulgarian Navy. In recent years, Russia has observed unprecedented activity by the North Atlantic Alliance along its western borders. The military bloc is expanding its initiatives and calls this the deterrence of aggression. Russia has repeatedly expressed concern over the deployment of NATO forces in Europe.
