Trump brags of personal diplomatic triumph as Iran inspections agreed to infinity and Hormuz blockade lifted
The president of the US claims that Iran has accepted weapons inspections... "to infinity"

The president of the US, Donald Trump, is in a true... delirium, making desperate efforts to "transform" the capitulation with Iran into a personal and absolute diplomatic triumph of his, as well as a "victory for the US."

Despite opposing voices, the American President claims that he forced Tehran into a complete... surrender, accepting nuclear controls... "to infinity." In fact, he presents himself as the absolute regulator of the region, making it clear that he himself "arranged" the opening of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, while launching fresh fire against the American media.

The post by Trump

In more detail, Trump points out in his post:

"Despite their protests and contrary false statements, combined with the non-stop hammering of the Fake News, who do everything possible to present the US Victory as small and insignificant as possible, Iran agreed fully and completely to top-level nuclear inspections for a very long time into the future (To Infinity!!!). This will ensure 'Nuclear Honesty'. If they did not agree to this, there would be no further negotiations!

Based on this and other important concessions made by Iran, I agreed to allow the Strait of Hormuz to remain OPEN, without further Naval Blockade. However, all ships remain in their positions in case it becomes necessary to reimpose the Blockade, which seems, at this point, extremely unlikely.

The Money and/or Sanctions released by the US Department of the Treasury are deposited into a restricted account (escrow), controlled by the US, and will be used for the purchase of food and medical supplies, exclusively from the United States, including Corn, Wheat, and Soybeans from our great American Farmers. These are things that Iran desperately needs. It is a humanitarian crisis and I feel it is necessary to help, NOW, before it is too late. The talks are moving along well! Thank you for your attention to this issue.

President DONALD J. TRUMP"

Iran: No commitment for inspectors at nuclear facilities

On the flip side, Iran has rejected the American claims that Tehran agreed to inspections of its nuclear facilities, characterizing the relevant reports as inaccurate and detrimental to the negotiation process.

Iranian officials argue that during the talks in Switzerland no new commitments were undertaken regarding the nuclear issue and insist that the nuclear dossier was not a subject of discussion.

Tehran also reiterated its opposition to any framework of inspections at this phase, arguing that such measures are not included in the current memorandum of understanding and could only be the subject of future negotiations.

In statements, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Esmaeil Baghaei argued that Tehran undertook no new commitment regarding its nuclear program during the talks in Switzerland.

Baghaei underlined that any future cooperation with the IAEA will take place exclusively within the framework of existing regulations and decisions established by the Iranian Parliament and the Supreme National Security Council of Iran.

The nuclear issue constitutes the main point of interest for the US

The nuclear program of Iran is the central issue for the American side.

This is also the reason why JD Vance was in Switzerland during the first phase of the negotiations.

The American administration considers that this is the most important topic on the agenda.

Trump has stated repeatedly that Iran cannot acquire a nuclear weapon and the goal of the talks was to set the framework for the management of the nuclear dossier.

Upon his departure from Switzerland, JD Vance appeared convinced that the Iranian side had proceeded with important concessions.

As he stated, Iran agreed to allow the entry of nuclear weapons inspectors for the first time after a long period of time, while he added that the US "will strengthen the inspection regime to ensure that Iran will never be able to acquire a nuclear weapon."

Ghalibaf (president of Iran parliament): Hormuz will never return to the pre-war state

A clear message that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is not going to return to the state that existed before the war was sent by the president of the parliament of Iran and member of the Iranian negotiating delegation, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

"Everyone must know that the management of the Strait will never return to the state that existed before the war.

We agreed to establish coordination mechanisms in the Strait of Hormuz, including a direct communication line (hotline) and a center to which one can turn every time any ambiguity or disagreement arises," Ghalibaf underlined.

Positive talks

In addition, he emphasized that "this trip had positive results, particularly regarding the discussion about the Strait, the talks about Lebanon, the issue of oil sanctions exemptions (oil waivers), and the matter of releasing frozen funds, which constitutes one of the steps of progress we are making.

Of course, we consider that we are still at the beginning of this process and we must continue our efforts."

The Iranian official confirmed the release of two installments amounting to 6 billion dollars from the frozen Iranian funds and emphasized that the sanctions on the oil sector of Iran remain in force, as a definitive agreement has not yet been reached.

"Therefore, we need exemptions (waivers) so that we can sell our oil and conduct our banking activities...

These exemptions have now been secured and the relevant agreements have been signed," said Ghalibaf, who regarding Lebanon claimed that "we agreed to establish a coordination center there."

According to him, the center will handle any disputes "in order to prevent a return to war, to allow citizens to return to their normal lives, to ensure the withdrawal from areas under Israeli occupation, and to respect the national sovereignty of Lebanon."
