In-progress is a critical diplomatic mission in Tehran, as the Minister of Interior of Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi, is expected to hold official talks with the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi.
The news was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, through the news agency ISNA.
According to the official statements of Esmaeil Baqaei, the visit of Mohsin Naqvi, which had been announced during the previous period, does not simply concern the bilateral relations of the two neighboring countries.
On the contrary, it is part of the ongoing and intensive efforts being made by Islamabad in order to facilitate and support the broader negotiations that are underway between Iran and the United States.
This meeting comes at an extremely critical juncture for the Middle East, as Pakistan assumes an active role of mediator between Washington and Tehran.
The talks of the two officials are expected to focus on the behind-the-scenes consultations for stability in the region, the maintenance of diplomatic channels, and the defusing of tension, with Islamabad emerging as a bridge of communication for achieving a sustainable international agreement.
