New deal for Metlen – Photovoltaic projects in the United Kingdom in partnership with Elgin
The 61.9MW Thorpe project in Staffordshire and the 26.2MW Aston Flamville solar park in Leicestershire are the newest additions to the partnership.

METLEN continues to strengthen its partnerships in the United Kingdom, as it implements new photovoltaic parks across the country for Elgin, a renewable energy project developer, with a total capacity of 112.5MW. These projects highlight the commitment of both companies to accelerating the development of Renewable Energy Sources and supporting the United Kingdom's goals for clean energy.

The 61.9MW Thorpe project in Staffordshire and the 26.2MW Aston Flamville solar park in Leicestershire are the latest additions to the partnership, following the previously announced 24.5MW Maes Mawr solar park in Wales. METLEN has undertaken the design and execution of the projects, operating as an integrated developer, as well as the initial operation and maintenance (O&M) services.

Once operational, the three projects are expected to generate enough clean electricity to power 48,000 households annually, while contributing to the avoidance of approximately 16,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. METLEN has been active in the United Kingdom for more than ten years, implementing large-scale solar energy and energy storage projects, including hybrid projects, with consistency regarding schedules and budget. To date, the company has completed or is constructing approximately 90 renewable energy projects in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with a total capacity of over 2 GW of installed solar energy, more than 1 GWh of battery storage, as well as hybrid solar/storage projects with a capacity of 137MW/391MWh.

These include landmark projects, such as the 373MW Cleve Hill solar park in Kent—the largest in the United Kingdom upon its completion—as well as the 400MW Longfield Solar Farm, one of the largest licensed photovoltaic projects in the country.
