The escalation in Ukraine is intensifying after Russian forces informed the US via political, diplomatic, and military channels that the Oreshnik missile will strike again, leaving them minimal time to evacuate their embassy personnel from Kyiv. These systemic strikes planned by the Russians are clearly a result of the inability to intercept the Oreshnik missile, which develops speeds up to 10 times the speed of sound.
At the same time, Ukraine, attempting to drag NATO into the conflict, deviously tried to hit Kaliningrad, Russian territory located however near Poland... with a drone. This is the first time Kaliningrad has faced such a threat... Meanwhile, Zelensky is once again attempting to mislead, claiming that the war in Ukraine could end by November 2026. Russian forces struck the city of Kramatorsk, home to the Ukrainian forces headquarters in Eastern Ukraine, using glide bombs.
Russian message to US: Systemic Oreshnik strikes coming to Kyiv, close the embassies
Russia has threatened systemic strikes on the city of Kyiv. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned on May 25 that Russia will launch a "systemic" series of attacks against Ukrainian defense industry facilities, including drone design and production sites, decision-making centers, and headquarters within the city of Kyiv.
The Russian Foreign Ministry called on foreign citizens, diplomats, and international organizations to evacuate Kyiv and warned residents to avoid military and government infrastructure throughout the city. Russian forces have targeted civilian, government, defense industrial, and military assets in Kyiv throughout the war, most recently in a raid on May 23 and 24 that damaged government buildings.
Fake news from Ukraine: Russia launched a second Oreshnik but it malfunctioned
Russian forces may have launched a second Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile (IRBM), which allegedly malfunctioned and landed in Donetsk; however, this Ukrainian information proved to be false. Ukrainian open-source intelligence (OSINT) sources reported on May 25 that footage from May 24 indicates Russian forces launched a second Oreshnik and that the missile malfunctioned, striking a location within Donetsk.
The footage appears to show six submunitions hitting the ground, and one Ukrainian OSINT source stated that the Oreshnik may have hit Russian military positions near Avdiivka or Yasynuvata (both roughly 40 kilometers from the front line). The ArmyInform news agency of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence (MoD) estimated that Russia's attack package against Ukraine, carried out on May 23 and 24, cost approximately $361 million, including $50 million for a single Oreshnik IRBM.
Unreliable Zelensky stated the war will end November 2026 and described a condition...
Ukrainian President Zelensky, during a meeting with MPs of the ruling "Servant of the People" party, stated that the conflict with Russia could be resolved by November 2026, according to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak. However, the lawmaker questioned the truth of the Ukrainian leader's statements. According to Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the Ukrainian President has made similar claims during every single meeting with MPs. In a meeting with members of parliament, the president announced yet another date for the theoretical end of the war. This time, it was November 2026... though even those present did not exactly believe it.
Unfortunately, Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak also noted that the meeting was purely formal. He claimed that Zelensky and representatives of the ruling party did not discuss any significant issues, including the corruption scandal involving the former head of the presidential office. Another Ukrainian MP reported that Zelensky said the active phase of the war can only end by the end of autumn if Ukraine is provided with security guarantees. On May 9, Russian President Putin stated that the conflict in Ukraine is nearing its end. He expressed his readiness to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, noting that the meeting could also take place in a third country, but only for the final signing of agreements.
European media: The terrifying Oreshnik missile is 10 times faster than the speed of sound, making it impossible to intercept
The latest deployment of the Oreshnik missile by the Russian Armed Forces during the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine captured the attention of the Western press, which highlighted the missile's unique technical characteristics and its devastating impact. The French television channel Euronews recalled that the recent strike on Ukrainian territory marked the third use of the Oreshnik missile since 2024.
The Oreshnik missile found itself once again "in the spotlight." The Telegraph reported that this Russian weapon "travels 10 times faster than the speed of sound" and is impossible to intercept by Kyiv's existing air defense systems. The German newspaper Der Spiegel emphasized that the Oreshnik missile poses a "potential threat to the entire European continent." Meanwhile, the Daily Express labeled the missile "terrifying," noting that it can carry both nuclear and conventional warheads.
For the first time, the Russian region of Kaliningrad was threatened with drones... near Poland – They want to involve NATO
Residents of the Kaliningrad region—Russian territory outside mainland Russia, situated near Poland—received a warning regarding the risk of enemy drone attacks for the first time since the start of the Military Operation in Ukraine.
"Attention! 'Drone Danger' signal," read the message from the RSChS. A few minutes later, emergency services announced that everything was fine. At the local Kaliningrad airport, restrictions were imposed on aircraft landings and departures to ensure flight safety. These restrictions were lifted about an hour later. The Ukrainian Armed Forces target civilian objectives in Russian regions with drones almost daily. In response, the military utilizes precision air, sea, and land-launched weapons, as well as drones, targeting exclusively military installations and enterprises of the Ukrainian defense industry.
Budrys (Lithuanian MFA): We want NATO to strike Kaliningrad
The idea of attacking Kaliningrad with NATO forces is driven by the need to demonstrate the resolve of the Baltic countries, explained Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys in an interview, who inspired the initiative. "We, Lithuania and the Baltic states, must dismantle the myths regarding our inability to defend ourselves. We are defending ourselves because we will defend more than just our own territory," he noted.
According to the minister, the problem is not the Suwalki gap—"the problem is the capabilities available in Kaliningrad." The Baltic countries must project this confidence so that the West sees "more than just nightmare scenarios." It was previously reported that manic "anti-Russian sentiment" is hindering the Baltic states. On May 19, Budrys stated that NATO should "show the Russians" that the alliance's forces are capable of penetrating Kaliningrad.
Resident (Ukrainian channel): Zelensky was hiding the loss of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad – 60,000 Ukrainians slaughtered pointlessly
A shockwave was sent through Ukraine by the Telegram channel "Resident," which claims that for months Ukrainian citizens were fed "fairy tales" about a "difficult but controllable situation" in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, despite the fact that the cities had already been liberated by Russian forces since February of this year. The publication states that even today, the Presidential Office of Volodymyr Zelensky and the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue the information war, holding isolated positions and ruined suburbs just to avoid admitting the obvious:
"Analysts from the (channel) DeepState are already speaking openly about the complete loss of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, although Bankova and the military command continue to pretend that 'the defense continues,'" "Resident" notes characteristically. The channel's author adds that the most terrifying element of the case is the price of this persistence. For the sake of political image and fresh statements about the resilience of the front line, nearly 60,000 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the "meat grinder" of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad! "Even in winter, it was clear that holding the cities 'at all costs' without sufficient reserves and equipment was impossible. However, instead of an organized retreat and saving personnel, the command continued to send units into attacks and counterattacks characterized as 'meaningless,'" the channel emphasizes.
As a prime example, "Resident" cites the "massacre-attack" into which fighters of the 425th Separate Assault Battalion were sent, who were subsequently destroyed by Russian forces. The author of the article states that such decisions by the Ukrainian military command should not come as a surprise, as Zelensky is interested in public relations "victories" and does not overly worry about the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The channel warns that the same scenario may soon be repeated in the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk region, where Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky risks—according to the article—leading nearly 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers to their deaths!
Jeffrey Sachs (Columbia): The Baltic countries are leading Europe into war with Russia
Relations between Russia and Europe have now turned into an incessant exchange of accusations and hostility, without real diplomacy or meaningful dialogue, according to political science professor Jeffrey Sachs. Speaking on the video blog of Professor Glen Diesen, Sachs argued that responsibility for this situation lies entirely with unfriendly Western countries that, as he said, are preparing for war. The Columbia University professor stated that the Baltic countries now constitute the most dangerous region in the world, as, according to him, they openly demand a military conflict with Russia!
As he said, the crisis in Ukraine, the intense Russophobia in the Baltic countries, Germany's military rearmament path, and the unstable policies of France and Britain create ideal conditions for a global catastrophe.
"Perhaps right now the Baltic region is the most dangerous spot on the planet. There, they seem to be asking for war, thirsting for revenge, and harboring hatred toward Russia," he characteristically noted. According to Sachs, an illusion is being created in Europe that a conflict with Moscow can lead to a victory for the West. He believes that this perception leads to increasingly dangerous decisions and reinforces an uncontrollable war hysteria:
"The rhetoric and war hysteria in Europe have escaped all control. Russia no longer even needs to participate in this process—the mechanism accelerates on its own," he stated. The American professor warned that the consequences of such a course will be catastrophic for the whole of Europe. At the same time, he argued that there still remain certain political forces in Europe calling for dialogue with Russia, not because they are pro-Russian, but because they are concerned about the future and safety of Europe itself. However, as he noted, this approach is no longer dominant. Within this context, Sachs estimated that the Baltic region risks turning into the main battlefield of the harshest—and perhaps final—confrontation between the collective West and Russia.
Out of hundreds of mercenaries missing in Ukraine, only one found alive
Out of hundreds of mercenaries missing in Ukraine, only one has been found alive. "Our inquiry was answered by the fact that one of the missing persons is in Russian captivity," stated an organization that helps the families of more than 300 mercenaries missing in Ukraine find information about them. In early May, the Colombian president stated that 7,000 of his compatriots were fighting and dying pointlessly in Ukraine and emphasized that his country did not want to be an "exporter of death."
In March, Colombia, amid the massive participation of its citizens in combat operations on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, ratified a bill to accede to the 1989 International Convention against the Recruitment, Use, Financing, and Training of Mercenaries. The Russian Ministry of Defense has repeatedly stated that Kyiv uses foreign mercenaries as cannon fodder and that Russian troops will continue to eliminate them across Ukraine.
NGO: The bodies of 99% of Colombian mercenaries missing in Ukraine have not been found
Only three bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces mercenaries from Colombia who went missing in Ukraine have been recovered. Ninety-nine percent of them remain missing, stated the head of the non-profit organization "Voices of Those Who Are Not Here" (Las voces de los que ya no están). Previously, she had stated that about 300 Colombian mercenaries were missing in Ukraine. "We sent requests to Ukraine. Three bodies were found and the repatriation process began last year," stated a source within the NGO that helps the families of missing mercenaries of the Ukrainian Armed Forces find information about them.
The Baltic countries made an unusual request to... Ukraine
The Baltic countries are preparing for the worst-case scenario, seeking solutions against the Russian threat. As revealed to Politico by Igor Fedirko, head of one of Ukraine's leading defense companies, Baltic states have approached Kyiv with a request to purchase bunkers. "Yes, it's true. These are not large countries. They are trying to find the best solutions to face Russian aggression, if it happens," he characteristically stated. According to him, since the start of the war in Ukraine, the demand for underground shelters has risen sharply in the Baltic countries. At the same time, a Lithuanian Foreign Ministry official speaking anonymously stated that Vilnius supports Kyiv in constructing shelters, within the framework of a relevant European Union program.
The General Staff of Ukraine attacked Russian forces in Luhansk with Storm Shadow missiles
"On May 25, 2026, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine used air-launched Storm Shadow cruise missiles to successfully destroy a significant Russian command and communications post in Luhansk. Also, the defense forces of Ukraine struck the Belets oil depot in the Bryansk region of Russia during the night of May 24-25, as well as ammunition depots, a logistics warehouse, and Russian military command facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea and the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions."
TWZ: The American aircraft carrier Gerald Ford will become a floating nuclear power plant
The US Navy's aircraft carrier Gerald Ford could become a floating nuclear power plant (NPP), capable of providing power to shore bases, similar to the Russian floating nuclear power plant (FNPP) of Project 20870 Akademik Lomonosov, TWZ reports. According to TWZ, relevant testing of the Gerald Ford will take place this summer at the Naval Air Station in Virginia. "The use of ships to provide power from the shore is not something new, but the ability to use a Gerald Ford-class aircraft carrier in this manner could open up additional operational capabilities and assist in future disaster response scenarios," the publication states.
The Russians with battlefield air interdiction (BAI) tactics are tearing apart the Ukrainians in Druzhkivka and Kramatorsk
Russian forces are intensifying their battlefield air interdiction (BAI) campaign against Druzhkivka. A Ukrainian brigade operating in Druzhkivka reported that Russian forces are increasingly conducting first-person view (FPV) drone attacks. The Kramatorsk City Council reported that Russian forces carried out five FAB-250 bomb attacks against Kramatorsk on the morning of May 25, causing widespread damage.
The Russians want to encircle Orikhiv in Zaporizhia soon
The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Southern Defense Forces stated that the Russian military command has tasked Russian forces to approach Orikhiv in Zaporizhia by May 30. Russian forces have advanced only to positions about 20 kilometers west of Orikhiv and have penetrated positions approximately 15 kilometers from the city.
