ERT scandal: Cooking the books, data tampering, and Director General interventions in contractor tenders
The altered list, the hand-delivered CV, and pressure on evaluation committees

Shocking incidents are unfolding at ERT regarding journalist service lease contracts where, according to data obtained by Bankingnews, legislative violations and interventions exceed all imagination. Specifically, in at least two recruitment processes for journalists under Service Lease Contracts in the Sports Programs Department that ran during March and April, the Director General proceeded with unbelievable interventions, justifying her stance to members of the relevant evaluation committees as a "superior's order".

They changed the list

Specifically, in a tender to fill five positions for the website ertsports.gr, the list of applicants-participants provided to the evaluation committee via email from the General Directorate of Programs was altered compared to the one sent to them a few days earlier. Two candidates from another call for three positions that was running concurrently had been transferred to the list for this specific call. The question remains how this miracle occurred and whether computer technology at ERT has advanced to the point of "arranging" official protocols as well.

With the CV... in hand

However, the "party" does not end here. In the tender for the three positions, the Director General of Programs rejected the recommendation of the advisory evaluation committee for one of the three candidates the committee had pre-selected, proposing another name and personally providing their CV. When a member of the Committee reacted, she gave an order to change the minutes and make a new recommendation characterizing the "third position as fruitless," so that it could be re-advertised soon, allowing the aforementioned individual to apply this time. The position was re-advertised on April 24, 2026, and miraculously, the Director General requested the hiring of the person whose CV she had hand-delivered.

The... job description

We point out that the documents and data of the candidates and the committee have come to the knowledge of Bankingnews, but are not published for reasons of personal data. In any case, it is obvious that serious violations of the law arise. Unless some people include such practices in the job description of ERT executives, much like the job description of MPs in the OPEKEPE case.
