Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense dismisses top commander after publication of photos
Shocking photos of emaciated Ukrainian soldiers from the front lines, suffering due to insufficient food and water, have been released, revealing the criminal nature of the Zelensky regime. According to a report by the Guardian, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense dismissed a top commander following the release of photographs showing a group of exhausted soldiers who had remained on the front line for months without adequate supplies.
Scandal
The scandal broke when the wife of one of the soldiers, Anastasiia Silchuk, posted the images on social media. The four men appeared pale and visibly malnourished, with clearly visible ribs and extremely thin arms. The soldiers had spent eight months defending a shrinking pocket of land on the left bank of the Oskil River, near the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kupiansk, according to their relatives. Supplies of food and medicine could only reach them via drones. "When the boys arrived at the front, they weighed over 80–90 kg. Now they weigh about 50 kg," Silchuk wrote.
Drinking water ... from the rain
After one supply mission, she reported that no further food arrived for 10 days. The soldiers were forced to drink rainwater and melt snow to survive. "The longest period without food was 17 days. They weren't heard on the radio, or perhaps no one wanted to hear them. My husband was shouting and pleading, saying there was no food or water," she added, emphasizing that the problem is widespread.

Fainting from hunger
Another relative, Ivanna Poberezhnyuk, stated that the soldiers of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade were in an extremely difficult situation. "The fighters are losing consciousness from hunger," she said. Her father was evacuated from the position, but others remained trapped.
Dismissal of Ukrainian commander
The General Staff of Ukraine announced that it has replaced the commander responsible for the supply of the soldiers. The brigade acknowledged logistical problems and stated that deliveries were only possible by air due to the proximity to enemy lines. A spokesperson stated: "Everything is done with drones. The Russians pay maximum attention to missions involving food, ammunition, and fuel. They intercept and shoot down whatever they can. Sometimes they are more interested in logistics than in our military equipment."
The gray zone
Since the full-scale invasion ordered by Vladimir Putin in early 2022, the "gray zone" between the two sides has expanded significantly. Both sides use drones extensively for surveillance and attacks on armor and infantry, while soldiers are often forced to travel 10–15 km to reach forward positions. In recent months, Ukraine has increasingly used unmanned ground robots to transport supplies to exposed areas and to evacuate the wounded. In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces have destroyed bridges over the Oskil River, attempting to cut off Ukrainian forces on the left bank.
Improvement following the outcry
Silchuk mentioned in statements today that conditions have improved since the case was made public. "There is a new commander. He called us and said the situation is being resolved. And indeed it is. My husband wrote to me that he just ate more than he has in the last eight months." She added: "The men are now eating a little at a time. Their stomachs have shrunk and they don't know if they will have food tomorrow. I believe this situation had to be publicized. There must be rotations and the soldiers need medical care."
Investigation begins
The military command of Ukraine announced that an investigation has begun. "It should be noted that a new batch of food was recently delivered to the position of the 14th Infantry Brigade. If favorable conditions arise, an immediate evacuation of our soldiers will take place," the Ukrainian military command stated.
