Speaking to BN tv, Haris Mamoulakis estimates that only Tsipras can unite democratic forces – PASOK acts as a sponsor for Mitsotakis
The overthrow of the Mitsotakis regime can only be achieved through an alliance of democratic forces led by Alexis Tsipras, argues the MP and Shadow Finance Minister of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance, Haris Mamoulakis, speaking on the show "MAGGA" on BNtv television by BankingNews.gr. Essentially, responding to journalist Angie Stathatou, he implies that following the announcement of a Tsipras-led party, entities such as SYRIZA and the New Left may dissolve or be integrated into the former Prime Minister's new political movement: "The issue is not the brand name, but the creation of a strong pole for change," he says. The only obstacle to creating a center-left coalition is PASOK, claims Mr. Mamoulakis, which is playing "the role of Mitsotakis's sponsor." Regarding other political figures, Mr. Mamoulakis considers Stefanos Kasselakis "inferior to the circumstances," Kyriakos Mitsotakis a "tragic figure and corrupt scion," US President Donald Trump a "dangerous caricature," and Ursula von der Leyen "the worst of all."
Elections after June 30th so Mitsotakis can appoint Supreme Court Judges and Prosecutors
"The government is closing its political cycle in an environment of corruption and scandals," argues the SYRIZA Shadow Finance Minister, while also making reference to the illegal wiretapping scandal: "It is inconceivable that a veteran of the Israeli army is blackmailing Mitsotakis and he is turning a blind eye," he characteristically states. Mr. Mamoulakis predicts that elections will not be announced before June 30th, to allow the Prime Minister to appoint the highest-ranking Judges and Prosecutors "so he can land softly the next day," while he gives ND a percentage in the range of 20%, despite polls suggesting the ruling party will reach at least 30% in the 2027 elections.
Haris Mamoulakis makes extensive reference to Alexis Tsipras, whom he describes as a "factor of pivotal importance for the country's future," comments on his book "Ithaca," and defends the Prespa Agreement, saying it was a "historic agreement in the interest of Greece." He calls for the continued presence of frigates and the F16 VIPER aircraft of our Air Force in Cyprus, while emphasizing that "under Tsipras, we cut the cables of the Turkish Barbaros, whereas under Mitsotakis, the Oruc Reis went on a cruise in the Aegean."
