Fearsome 200 sq km Russian stronghold: Putin’s patience ends, Onyx missiles target Europe as mass mobilization looms
The ZVON group "steamroller" sweeps through Sumy – Onyx missiles and the "window" of major conflict with NATO

The last few days mark a cataclysmic evolution of events, both in the Ukrainian theater of operations and on the geopolitical front, sending shivers of concern through the West. The tension is now moving dangerously toward Europe, as Moscow sends clear signals that its patience has been exhausted. The approval of a bill allowing President Vladimir Putin to dispatch troops abroad to protect national interests and citizens constitutes a response to British threats regarding the seizure of Russian tankers. Recent exercises by the Baltic Fleet using P-800 Onyx supersonic missiles and Bastion systems serve as a stark warning: Russia will not allow the Baltic to be transformed into a closed NATO lake.

While European officials, such as Belgian General Frederic Vansina, call for war preparations by 2030, US intelligence services fear the conflict could break out much sooner, exploiting the current "window of opportunity."

The "invisible" mobilization and the shielding of Russia

For the first time since 2022, the word "mobilization" is returning to the forefront, albeit under a different guise. In the Leningrad region, Governor Alexander Drozdenko announced the formation of mobile fire groups composed of reservists and veterans to protect critical infrastructure from enemy drone attacks. This is essentially a limited regional mobilization aimed at shielding Russian skies. Simultaneously, analysts such as Sergey Perelegin estimate that after the September elections, Russia may be forced to proceed with a second wave of partial mobilization to meet the needs of a potential total conflict with Western forces that appears to be approaching inevitably.

The ZVON group "steamroller" sweeps through Sumy

The Russian "North" army group, which has received the codename ZVON from the very first moments of its advance, has not limited itself to a simple spring campaign. With massive leaps, Russian forces are piercing through the Sumy region, preparing the ground for the final showdown in this critical sector of the contact line. The momentum of the attack is such that, in just one week, Russian forces established a 200-square-kilometer stronghold, despite fierce resistancefrom the Ukrainians, forcing even enemy sources to admit Russian dominance in strategically important settlements like Stepok.

The collapse of Ukrainian defense and criminal negligence

On the Donetsk front, the situation for Ukrainian forces is described as critical. In the Dobropillya direction, Russian units are clearing forest zones west of Novyi Donbas, eliminating any threat to their flanks and extending control toward Rodynske. The action of the Russian Air Force is unprecedented, with the use of new precision missiles and the fearsome FAB-3000 bombs turning Ukrainian positions into ruins. In Kostantynivka, revelations from prisoners are shocking: the 156th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was annihilated due to the criminal negligence of Commander Yuri Gupalyuk. Funds for fortification works were wasted on mock constructions for photographs, leaving the infantry exposed to a "meat grinder" without trenches and without a second line of defense.

Donbass: Alarm over nightmare Russian assault with 700,000 troops – SMS bombshell: 20,000 new soldiers on the front line

Predictions for a new, sweeping Russian offensive in Donbass are multiplying dangerously. Christopher Miller, a prominent British journalist citing classified sources from Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, reveals that Moscow is moving strategic reserves en masse to eastern Ukraine. The Kremlin's goal, according to Ukrainian estimates, is clear and relentless: the total capture of the Donetsk region. "Russia is preparing a new offensive in southeastern Ukraine, adding 20,000 new soldiers to its forces within the country using its strategic reserves," the Ukrainian military intelligence reportedly conveyed to Miller. This revelation, if confirmed, suggests a significant escalation of the Russian military presence, with total forces on the ground reaching the staggering number of 680,000 troops.

Despite Ukrainian predictions placing the capture of Donbass by September, the Kremlin has never confirmed such timelines. It is common for Ukrainian sources to express such estimates, which they then use to claim that Russia failed in its plans. However, the reality on the battlefield remains unyielding. The Kremlin has repeatedly made it clear that it will fight for Donbass until Ukraine agrees to withdraw its troops, leaving little room for hope for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the near future.
