Surprise: Russians sweep across Ukraine with Kh-101 and Kalibr – Chaos and flames in Kyiv, Izyum, Vinnytsia

Chaos and flames in Chernihiv, Izyum, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, and Odesa – Russians drop leaflets with a powerful symbolic message for Zelensky

Russian forces have caused chaos across Ukraine and plunged a large number of cities into darkness, including Kyiv, Izyum, and Vinnytsia, in a sweeping missile attack that began at noon on April 15 and continues into the late evening hours, according to Russian media reports. An air raid alert has been sounded across almost the entirety of Ukraine. Kyiv claims its air defenses are "repelling a massive missile attack and drone strike."1_1068.jpg

Ukrainians punished for violating Easter truce

The previous Russian missile strike had taken place more than two weeks ago; subsequently, the well-known Easter truce was violated by the Ukrainians, whose forces continued to strike Russian regions—for instance, Lgov in the Kursk region.

Incredible leaflet dropped in Sumy: "You elected him for 5 years, he burdened you forever"

In fact, at this moment, Russian Geran drone operators are active in Vinnytsia and the surrounding area. In Sumy, locals are posting information online about Russian drones dropping leaflets with the following text: "You elected them for 5 years, but they decided to stay forever."2_205.webp

Dozens of Ukrainian cities targeted by Russian Kh-101 and Kalibr

The Russian bombardments are massive and cover a vast range of Ukrainian territory. Indeed, news sources from the Kyiv region report strikes involving Kh-101 missiles. In the southern regions controlled by the Kyiv regime, there is talk of a "Kalibr missile attack from the Black Sea."3_1074.jpg

Chaos and flames in Chernihiv, Izyum, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, and Odesa

The strikes target industrial facilities in the cities of Nizhyn (Chernihiv region), Izyum (Kharkiv region), Obukhiv (Kyiv region), and Kropyvnytskyi (formerly Kirovohrad). Power has been cut to industrial units in Shostka and Sumy, while emergency blackouts occurred in Kharkiv. Reports are being confirmed regarding the destruction of the Mikron plant in Odesa, which in recent years had been fully repurposed for military-industrial goals. Attacks against targets within Ukraine continue until the late evening of April 15.4_871.jpg

Russian barrage with 129 drones

The sweeping bombardments in Ukraine come amid a... hellish forty-eight hours. April 14 was part of an ongoing cycle of mutual strikes: Ukraine reported a massive wave of Russian drones and missiles, while by evening, the attacks continued with new series of UAV approaches and strikes on facilities in multiple regions. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of April 14, 129 Russian UAVs were recorded, of which it is claimed 114 were shot down or neutralized.

Russian army targeted infrastructure in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Prydniprovska stations

The attack hit facilities in seven regions. Energy and transport infrastructure were hit particularly hard. In the Mykolaiv region, a direct hit damaged the PS 35/10 kV “Kobleve” substation. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a strike on a substation cut off electricity to the “Stepova” mine in the Shakhtersk area. In the Kharkiv region, in the city of Lozova—one of the key railway hubs of the region—the traction engine depot was hit. At the Sukhachivka station of the Prydniprovska railway, direct strikes destroyed a freight electric locomotive and a suburban electric train, while simultaneously damaging the power grid and the railway tracks.

Power stations and Ukrainian tankers engulfed in flames

In Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk, a strike hit the 150 kV “TsGOK” substation, which supplies the Central Mining and Processing Plant. In the Kharkiv region, in Merefa, a transformer on the territory of the “Bitoksyd” enterprise was hit. Additionally, Russian UAVs targeted air defense positions and transport arteries. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, near Adarovka, the deployment infrastructure of the 35D6M radar station, which provides long-range target detection, was hit. In the Danube sector, the vessel “EXELON” (Panama flag) was hit, which was carrying diesel fuel. The strike affected the bow area, where the fuel system piping is located, leading to fire and damage to the fuel tanks.5_633.jpg

Kharkiv dam blown up by Russian missiles

Air strikes were also carried out against hydraulic structures. A repeated series of strikes was executed at the Pechenihy hydroelectric complex in the Kharkiv region using six FAB-250 aerial munitions with UMPK guidance systems. Two munitions directly hit the dam structure, while one fell into the water area near the base of the dam. No breach of the dam was recorded; however, according to technical assessments, localized destruction of the upper layers of the dam and damage to the drainage systems occurred, creating a risk of cumulative weakening of the structure.6_465.jpg

New Gerans deployed for attacks in Cherkassy

In Cherkasy, during the day on April 14, an active phase of massive use of “Geran-2” attack UAVs was recorded. A group of at least 10 units was operating toward the city, making approaches from different directions. The tactic involved using certain drones as decoys to identify air defense positions, while the main group approached changing altitude and course to bypass engagement zones. The first impacts were recorded within the city's built-up fabric. In the evening, Ukrainian monitoring sources reported the start of a new attack. Approximately 45 UAVs were already in Ukrainian airspace, with up to 35 additional ones approaching from one direction. The main groups were operating over the regions of Poltava and Kirovohrad. Ukrainian sources spoke of an atypical daytime attack, as well as the alleged preparation of approximately 500 “Geran” drones and “Iskander” ballistic missiles for use on the night of April 15.7_54.webp

Russian air defenses wipe out 97 Ukrainian drones

Simultaneously, Russian air defense forces on the night of April 14 destroyed 97 Ukrainian UAVs over the territory of eight Russian regions. Drones were shot down over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov, and Tula, as well as over the Republic of Crimea and the Sea of Azov. Ukrainian sources circulated footage of strikes in Crimea, but there was no official confirmation of this data. The most notable incident occurred in the Lipetsk region. In the city of Yelets, during a morning attack on the industrial zone of the listed company “Energia”, drone strikes were recorded on civilian infrastructure.
