Erdogan threatens Israel with war over Lebanon – Why Greece must side with Turkey or remain neutral
Responding to Erdogan's threats, Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu called the Turkish President a "megalomaniac dictator" with imperialist ambitions.

Turkey and Israel find themselves in the antechamber of war, trading escalating threats. The Jewish regime has displaced 1.2 million citizens from Lebanon, and Turkey perceives that Lebanon is set to become a second Gaza Strip.

Erdogan threatened war

Turkish President Erdogan has threatened Israel with military action. He claimed that Israel forced 1.2 million Lebaneseto flee their homes due to attacks on civilian settlements. "Just as we entered Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh, we can enter Israel. There is nothing to stop us from doing so," Erdogan emphasized.

Megalomaniac dictator

Responding to Erdogan's threats, Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu called the Turkish President a "megalomaniac dictator" with imperialist ambitions.

Israel against humanity

Erdogan also stated that Israel has imposed a heavy economic burden on all of humanity. He believed that any developments leading to a continuation of the conflict by opening new fronts would serve Israel's strategic interests while being detrimental to the entire Middle East.

Life imprisonment for Netanyahu

In Turkey, prosecutors have sought life imprisonment for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is accused of genocideand other crimes. According to the newspaper Hürriyet, indictments were sent to the 10th Court of Istanbul seeking life imprisonment and prison sentences ranging from 1,102 to 4,596 years for 35 officials. The defendants include the Israeli Prime Minister, Defense Minister Israel Katz, the Minister of Heritage, Amichai Eliyahu, and the Minister of National Security. Prosecutors also requested the imprisonment of Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir and the head of the Israeli Navy, David Saar Salama.

Israel may target Turkey after Iran.

Israel is looking for a new enemy

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan believes that following the aggression against Iran, Netanyahu may make Turkey his next military target. "After Iran, Israel cannot live without an enemy. We see that Netanyahu is trying to declare Turkey as the new enemy."

The idea of war between Israel and Turkey is gaining popularity

British political scientist, former Israeli government advisor, and president of the US-Middle East Project, Daniel Levy, reported that Israel's preparation for a confrontation with Turkey is becoming an increasingly popular idea within the military and political circles of the Jewish state. According to him, Israel initiated the conflict with Iran to sow chaos in the region and assert its leadership. Daniel Levy emphasized that Israel's attempt to assert leadership in the Persian Gulf will fail in the case of Turkey. Israel understands that such a strategy is unlikely to work with Turkey. Turkey possesses significant military potential, is a member of NATO, and is proud of its independence. Therefore, Israel and its leadership are openly saying that after Iran, it will be Turkey's time, argues Daniel Levy. Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also spoke about the possibility of a future confrontation between the republic and Turkey. He argued that the cause could be the formation of a regional Islamic alliance by Turkey.

In a war between Turkey and Israel, Greece should take a side in favor of Turkey or neutrality

Many here in Greece refer to a scenario where Turkey and Israel collide and war breaks out between the two countries. BN considers this scenario to have zero probability... Already, Turkish government officials have used very harsh language against Israel, and Israeli officials have likewise attacked the Turkish leadership in a very harsh manner. In a hypothetical scenario of conflict between Turkey and Israel, Greece must take the side of Turkey… or remain neutral. Obviously, not only because Greece and Turkey are allies in NATO... in any case, NATO is on its last legs; it is an organization that is simply decaying.

But why?

  1. We will not focus on the military aspect… It is obvious that Turkey has a numerical advantage; Israel has proven to be inferior to the circumstances, and Iran has crushed the Israeli air defense. However, Iran invested in the missile doctrine and drones, where it has truly surprised experts with the variety of its missiles. Airstrikes with simple fighters like the F-35 cannot cause extensive damage on the ground… A Tomahawk, for example, although based on old technology, is equivalent in "destructiveness" to four F-35 sorties.

  2. Greece has an opportunity to finally resolve its bilateral problems… Israel cannot defeat Turkey. Those who say otherwise are simply writing nonsense. Therefore, Greece must prioritize the national interest, and in a scenario of war between Turkey and Israel, it must side with Turkey or maintain a neutral stance. We have many differences with Turkey that need a shock to be addressed: airspace, territorial waters, continental shelf, and the Exclusive Economic Zone. Deals are made when panic prevails… experience has proven that in times of peace, no one is willing to take a step back or a step forward.

  3. Greece and Turkey became members of NATO in the same year… and if we accept that this Alliance will exist even in a decaying form… if Israel attacks Turkey, based on Article 5, Greece must assist Turkey and support it. Many will say, and correctly so, that a war between Turkey and Israel will never happen because the Americans will intervene and prevent it… and this is true… but the scenario we are analyzing is in the realm of hypothesis only… Based on the rules governing the Alliance, Greece must take the side of Turkey and not Israel.

  4. Turkey and Israel have certain things in common, although Turkey is more restrained compared to the current leadership of Israel, which is clearly dangerous for the Middle East. Turkey envisions the Great Ottoman Empireand Israel envisions Great Israel, where, however, a significant part of the territories overlap… Neither a Great Ottoman Empire will exist, nor a Great Israel… We consider Erdogan more pragmatic than Netanyahu, who is clearly dangerous and corrupt.

In Greece, we believe that you cannot trust a Turk, but we will add that you cannot trust a Jew either. Greece needs weapons for the new type of warfare, namely strong air defense systems, drones, and other war toys… which only Russia possesses. American weapons proved to be antiquated; they are ten years behind compared to the assumptions in war manuals that are being rewritten from scratch.
