Deadly alert in the Mediterranean: Two Iranian missiles launched toward Cyprus as Souda emerges as potential next target
John Healy, Minister of Defence of Britain, revealed that two missiles were launched from Iran toward Cyprus, where British military bases are located.

A deadly threat looms over the Mediterranean, as according to Sky News Arabia, two Iranian missiles were launched toward Cyprus, with Souda logically considered the next possible target, due to Greece’s indirect involvement in the United States attacks against Iran, through the American base.
John Healy, Minister of Defence of Britain, revealed that two missiles were launched from Iran toward Cyprus, where British military bases are located.
Healy stated that “we are fairly confident that they were not aimed at our bases,” stressing however that “this shows how indiscriminately” the Iranians are striking in the context of retaliation.
According to him, approximately 300 British military personnel were located near Iranian targets in Bahrain, a fact that underlines the importance of vigilance and security measures for personnel throughout the Gulf region.

Next target Souda?

The base constitutes a strategic hub for allied forces and NATO operational infrastructure.
The tension in the Mediterranean region increases the risk of unpredictable incidents, with potential consequences for the security of both military personnel and civilians.
The launch of Iranian missiles toward Cyprus sends a clear message of revenge from Tehran and shows that the crisis is not limited only to the Gulf.
The next moves of the Iranian forces are being closely monitored, as the Mediterranean appears to be turning into a new high risk front.
The Souda base has been placed on heightened alert status following Iran’s threats.
Emergency alert measures and reinforced air defense have been activated, while the installation remains closed as part of precautionary security measures for unauthorized personnel.
Sources from the Ministry of National Defence report that in Souda the usual security measures for such cases are being taken and that the airport is operating normally.
The Souda Base constitutes a pivotal point for the American armed forces, as U.S. air and naval units are stationed there, along with personnel, equipment, facilities and munitions.
Its strategic value is particularly high, since it gives the United States the ability to monitor and intervene in critical areas such as the Middle East, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Red Sea.

Threats by the IRGC

“As we had announced, in response to the shameless aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Iran, all occupied territories and criminal American bases in the region received crushing blows from Iranian missiles and this operation will continue relentlessly until the enemy is definitively defeated.
Given the aggression of the American military and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Iran, while targeting the occupied territories, all American bases, resources and interests throughout the region are considered legitimate targets for the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
May the heroic and brave nation of the Islamic Republic of Iran maintain its peace. The armed forces will defend the country, the nation and national interests decisively and steadfastly.”
