Terror as Iran pounds US bases in Dubai, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, strike hits Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain

Iran’s response to the strike by Israel and the United States is sweeping, as an unprecedented attack is underway against all American military bases in the Gulf.
Iran, according to the Fars news agency, confirmed that it struck military targets in the Gulf region, including:
The Al-Udeid air base in Qatar
The Al-Salem air base in Kuwait
The Al-Dhafra air base in the United Arab Emirates
The Fifth American base in Bahrain
At the same time, the AFP news agency reported explosions in Saudi Arabia, in the capital Riyadh, while a few hours later a new powerful explosion was reported in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, following a missile attack against an American base, in the context of Iranian retaliation for the American Israeli strikes.
The situation remains extremely fluid, with authorities and international agencies closely monitoring developments in the region.
Earlier, the United States and Israel struck several Iranian cities, prompting a fierce reaction from Tehran, which launched missiles against Israel and toward several military bases in the Middle East where American troops are operating.

Strike on the headquarters of the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain

Fear prevails in the Middle East following reports of explosions that occurred in Bahrain.
According to initial information, the offices of the United States Navy Fifth Fleet were struck.
Earlier, the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain issued an emergency alert, calling on citizens to move immediately to the nearest safe location.

Bahrain confirmed that the attacks targeted facilities “in blatant violation of the sovereignty and security of the kingdom,” describing them as “treacherous” and dangerous to the safety of citizens and residents, as reported by the state news agency of Qatar.

Explosions in Doha: Iranian missiles intercepted by Qatari forces

Dead in Abu Dhabi

A powerful explosion has been reported in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, according to reports by the international news agency Aljazeera, while there are reports of at least one dead.
The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates confirmed that the country was attacked by Iranian ballistic missiles, a number of which were successfully intercepted by air defense systems.
According to the statement, debris from the missiles fell in a residential area of Abu Dhabi, causing material damage and the death of one person of Asian origin.
The ministry condemned the attack “in the strongest terms,” emphasizing the categorical rejection of the targeting of civilian targets, facilities and national institutions.
The statement underlines that such actions “constitute a dangerous escalation and a cowardly act that threatens the safety of citizens and undermines stability.”
At the same time, the ministry stressed that the attack constitutes a “blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law,” adding that the state “fully reserves the right to respond to this escalation and to take all necessary measures to protect its territory.”
The statement concludes that the armed forces are “fully prepared and ready to confront any threat.”

Two Iraqi Hashid Shaabi fighters dead south of Baghdad

At least two fighters of the Iraqi Hashid Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces, PMF) were killed and three seriously wounded by airstrikes in the area of Jurf al-Sakhar, south of Baghdad, as a spokesperson for the PMF told the Reuters agency.
The PMF, known in Arabic as Hashd al-Shaabi, constitute an umbrella of mainly Shiite paramilitary organizations, including many groups linked to Iran.
Meanwhile, the armed forces of Jordan announced that they intercepted two ballistic missiles in the country’s airspace, intensifying tensions in the Gulf and the Middle East region.

Explosions and sirens in the wider region

Meanwhile, reports from media outlets state that explosions were also heard in Kuwait, with the authorities activating sirens and calling on the population to remain vigilant.
At the same time, the authorities of Qatar announced that an Iranian missile had been intercepted by the Patriot system over the country’s airspace, according to reports.
Tensions in the region have increased dramatically, as the ongoing military crisis in the Gulf raises concerns about broader escalation and new aggressive actions.

The attack of Israel

In the early hours of 28 February 2026, Israel launched the fierce “preemptive” operation ‘Roar of the Lion’, triggering severe retaliation from Iran, which launched a coordinated attack against Israel and the United States Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.

 

 

Operation ‘Roar of the Lion’: Total four-day war, 30 targets struck across Iran

Initially, at least three powerful explosions shook the center of the capital Tehran, spreading panic among residents.
Israeli missiles struck Daneshgah Avenue and the Jomhouri neighborhood, while thick smoke rose above the Pastour area.
Iranian state media confirmed deafening explosions shaking Tehran, Qom, Isfahan, Kermanshah and Karaj.
The situation escalated dramatically during the second wave of attacks, when Israeli missiles struck approximately 30 targets across Iran.
Among the targets hit were the residence of the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, as well as the intelligence headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the airport in Tehran.
Masoud Pezeshkian is reported to have left the city, while the country’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was also moved to a secure location outside the capital, according to confirmation by an Iranian official.
Iran and Israel closed their airspace, with the Israeli side declaring a state of emergency while awaiting retaliation.
Israel claims in official statements that all objective goals of the operation against Iran have been achieved, leaving behind ruins and an extremely volatile atmosphere.

The scale of the mobilization

Through analysis of military intelligence and Osinter data, the scale of the mobilization that began on the morning of 28 February was revealed.
In total, more than 500 strike aircraft, of which 100 are fifth-generation, and approximately 200 support aircraft have been assembled in the Middle East and Europe.

 

 

The United States Air Force carried out more than 270 flights of C-17A Globemaster III and C-5M Galaxy transport aircraft, while it deployed 86 KC-135 and KC-46 refueling aircraft.

The American force also includes:

1) Reconnaissance and communications: RC-135W Rivet Joint, E-11A BACN, E-3 Sentry AWACS and the strategic reconnaissance U-2 Dragon Lady.

2) Electronic warfare and UAV: EA-18G Growler and RQ-4B Global Hawk.

3) Strike fighters: 12 A-10C Thunderbolt II, 36 F-15E Strike Eagle, 30 F-35A Lightning II, 12 F-22A Raptor and 54 F-16.

Additional F-15E and F-35A are arriving in the coming hours from the Lakenheath base in Britain.
